I have been following football for over 45 years, AND I have TWO names for ya.

COLLEGE= BEAR BRYANT
NFL= VINCE LOMBARDI.

Bear Bryant went 11-1 at KENTUCKY, won the SEC and defeated a perfect Oklahoma team in the bowl game. They have never, and may never reach that level again.

So yeah, give him some props.

Pretty sick if true.

Any yes, we know he's dead, but the world would be a lot better place if more folks were like him.

My answer: YES 100% Serious !!

The man was not perfect, he had faults, but who among us doesn't ? That being said, who among us will come close to accomplishing he did in his lifetime ? Who among us will effect so many people as positively as he did ?

Bear Bryant was a great coach but shouldn't be a role model to anyone except idiot Updykes.

When in the hell did this happen??? Why don't you people tell me important stuff like this??? Of course, if I was not always in a drunken stupor chasing women around and cheating the system I would have probably not missed this news.

Anyway, I am giving the Bama fans a tough time. I met Coach Bryant when I was a young kid when Alabama was in Baton Rouge to play LSU. Bummer I was so young as I don't recall too much of the meeting, but recall the score was 7-6 and I remember those damn pom poms or whatever they are called.

I've seen a lot of other fanbases make this claim, but none of them have ever shown me anything he did that was against the rules. So I'll ask you; what did he do that was cheating?

In 09' I read a book by Gene Stallings about his son with downs syndrome, I learned a lot about Bear Bryant, Gene Stallings and his son Johnny, and Alabama football, we moved to Alabama for my daughter with downs in 2010. I thought we can show some support to UA for all they have done for disabled children. But unfortunately dealing with the majority of the fan base has been an awful experience for us. We love it in Alabama, its a great place as long as you dont bring up football.

Makes you wonder if other coaches could have done as well as Bryant if they used the same recruiting tactics. Probably.

Bryant is dead and gumps do follow his actions off the field. Drinks beat up their wives in Alabama all the time.
