He's still gotta make up for 09/10 year imo.

I still cant believe a team of Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Patterson, Miller, Liggins, Orton, Dodson (only one not a pro) loses in the elite 8 to f*cking West Virginia. That was easily the most talented/best team that year. I'd take that squad over the 11/12 team that won. A number of great coaches would have closed the deal that year (not saying Cal isnt great....but he failed the team that year)

Coach Ricky Pitino with Peyton f*cking Siva as his PG just won the championship.

If he loses next years championship with Randle, Harrison Twins, Dakari Johnson, Marcus Lee, James Young ADDED to returning players in Poythress, Wiltjer(sp) and most importanly Willie Caulie Stein. (And lets not forget they still might get Wiggins...)

....then the Cal would be looked at as the most overrated coach in the history of college basketball.

They will be the college version of the Miami Heat, especially if Wiggins joins them. Difference is...they have just 1 year to do it..

That team lacked the shooter that Meeks would've given them. He tried to convince Meeks to come back but he didn't want to play for his third coach. Don't see how you necessarily put that on Cal.

Understandable about not having the shooters. However, Cal totally ignored Cousins in the post. He should have been fed the ball constantly down low instead of chucking 3's from the outside.

No matter how people cut it up...its inexcusable to lose to a West Virginia team thats missing its starting PG.

Its going to be sickening how ridiculously talented Kentucky is next year. Its not inconceivable that they could have 8 or 9 pros on that team next year

Cousins averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds. That's hardly totally ignored.

You obviously don't understand NCAA Tournament play.

There were some baseless rumors that he was transferring to Gonzaga at one point. It was announced he was returning at the same time that WCS was announced (and Goodwin to the NBA).

Why? Coach Cal will have an insane amount of talent next year.

Better teams have had one bad game in the tournament and not won a NC. It's ridiculous to say it's a must win for Cal just because Pitino won with UofL tonight. They're a solid 5 championships behind Kentucky still.

And?

The list is pretty long of teams that were stacked with talent and didn't win it all, senior laden teams at that.

Kentucky will be a team of Freshmen and Sophomores...

I'm going to say this respectfully.....

I'm talking about Cousins AGAINST West Virginia. That game Kentucky kept swinging the ball around the perimeter and chucking 3's. Coach Huggins threw that 1-3-1 at UK and Coach Cal had no answers for it. They should have figured out a way to play inside/out at least. Dump it down low and let Cousins make some plays (passing/scoring). It was amazing how confused UK looked that game.

You say I dont understand Tournament play. But the backup PG was left handed......He went left the ENTIRE GAME. No adjustments whatsoever.

Coach Cal dropped the ball period. The game became about coaching and Huggins (at the time) had an undefeated record against Cal.

Like every year for Cal, it's still going to be ridiculously difficult to get 8 or 9 guys to play as a team when they were recruited under the promise of playing in the NBA after one year.

And that's why they play the games. As I said, better teams lose all the time in the NC tournament.

Was it a must win for Saban after Auburn won a NC?

How many 1st rounders with UK have next year? Lets say they sign Wiggins..

1. Andrew Wiggins (Number 1 overall)
2. Julius Randle (Top 10 talent)
3. Andrew Harrison (Lottery Talent)
4. Aaron Harrison (Lottery Talent)
5. Willie Cauley-Stein (Was projected top 10 this year)
6. Dakhari Johnson (#1 Center this year and top post players always get drafted high)
7. Alex Poythress (Another year of college puts him on fringe of 1st round IMO)

And then you have James Young and Marcus Lee who are kind of overlooked in this class but both are perennial top 20 recruits and definitely have one and done first round potential. That's 9 possible first rounders with 6, maybe 7 LOCKS.

Insane. Gonna be fun to watch
