That is just stupid. You couldn't look at your own tramp stamp as it's on your back.

fricking shite Kentucky fans I always thought y'all had some Rant Skills but this thread is pathetic, letting yourself get worked up over Aggies.

Boom.

It's weird to me that UK fans are so down on him for being abusive, when the one football coach we have in common was the most abusive SOB in history. AND he liked booze. Not sure about the wimmens.

He rode his players hard and was fighting a battle with the bottle. I suspect these pre-existing conditions intensified at Kentucky.

He was never a politician and saw himself as simply a basketball coach. It was just the wrong fit for a place like Kentucky, Duke, UNC, etc.

If he didn't like how his starters were hustling at A&M, he'd yank them all from the game and put in his backups. And have them run extra at practice.

Things like that get you branded as colorful and eccentric there. At Kentucky, where there are big name players and 20K would be coaches in the stands, it gets you labeled a drunk and a madman.

His former players at A&M still talk about him fondly. In Kentucky, he's viewed as a bigger villain than the ISIS Caliph. Just the way it goes.

Reasonable response.

We'd probably stick up for a football coach that kicked the shite out players to get to perform.

Basketball? Nope.

Pretty sure Cal has more success than all your basketball coaches have combined. That's not even hyperbole.

The only thing I've retained from this thread is that the University of Kentucky inhabits a culture of general softness and entitlement with kids who need to be coddled

Correct.

It reminds me a little of the Rich Rodriguez experience at Michigan. Rich Rod didn't have the drinking issue, but it was just the wrong match from the get go. There was also the issue of him working the players too hard or too long in the strength and conditioning program.

They are probably still cussing him in Michigan. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't have continued to do pretty well at WVU.

Billy may had done well in Aggie Land, but the demons took over. Don't forget, he had major issues in Lubbock as well.
