Many schools want to play other SEC members more often. I don't understand HOW the SEC can add 2 teams & NOT add another conf. game!

Clay Travis New SEC Schedule Idea: Thoughts?

I just don't get why we don't play a 9 game conference schedule and eliminate 1 crap or non power-5 team each year.

Because 13 of the conference coaches don't want that, including yours.

Not exactly. UGA was against it because us, FL, SC, & KY are the ONLY teams that have an in-state rivalry we play each year. Until the rest of the SEC gets an annual game added to their schedule, why should we be out that extra game?

Why do people keep using the term pod? Its just smaller damn divisions like every professional league has done with expansion.

To me, if you want (no reason other than to do it), you can partner up any of those 2 groupings to call them a "division". NOBODY said the teams in the divisions couldn't change.

The catch is that every other year, 2 of your 3 "perm" teams will be an "A" game for you.

Ex.:

2018
Perm 1 - Away
Perm 2 - Home
Perm 3 - Away
Rot. 1 - Home
Rot. 2 - Away
Rot. 3 - Home
Rot. 4 - Away
Rot. 5 - Home

2019
Perm 1 - Home
Perm 2 - Away
Perm 3 - Home
Rot. 6 - Away
Rot. 7 - Home
Rot. 8 - Away
Rot. 9 - Home
Rot. 10 - Away

2020
Perm 1 - Away
Perm 2 - Home
Perm 3 - Away
Rot. 1 - Away
Rot. 2 - Home
Rot. 3 - Away
Rot. 4 - Home
Rot. 5 - Away

2021
Perm 1 - Home
Perm 2 - Away
Perm 3 - Home
Rot. 6 - Home
Rot. 7 - Away
Rot. 8 - Home
Rot. 9 - Away
Rot. 10 - Home

There's no way round this 3-5 game problem....UNLESS you change playing the same Rotational schools every 2 years.
