I just had a Kansas Jayhawker tell me that he thought that there were several more heated rivalries in college football than Auburn-Alabama. The way that he talks he believes that Kansas has a very good football program. Now I know what you people from Missouri have been talking about. I can see your elation over finally breaking away from those people.

BTW- Welcome to the SEC!!

Yeah, and that was talking football. Their delusion knows no bounds. They will make Kentucky basketball fans look reasonable and humble. They fully believe that basketball was invented by, for and at kU. Just ask them, they'll tell you.

That's sort of legit. It's only been 82 years since their last outright conference championship, and 44 years since their last shared one. PLUS, they owned winning records against TWO members of the former Big 12.

Dumbass Kansans.....

Which, for the folks who don't know, is absolutely false.

You know every single CSA state sent at least 1 regiment to fight for the Union.. except SC. So as far as I'm concerned you all is Union sympathizers.

So LSU, Bama and NC are the only ppl who incorporate this with their every day school terminology? Rightfully so. Some lame nicknames on there.

Either way it technically belonged to the US Navy regardless of which angle you take.
1) Union never recognized the CSA as a country thus it all belonged the Union anyway.
2) Was sunk in combat and was thus a prize of war type thing.

not sure about that. it resided in state waters therefore was an artifact of the state. the same as the state can claim ownership on cannonballs, bullets, etc. found in public waters and on state lands. in fact, i believe the artifact law give the state some domain over historic items found on private lands too.

Alabama furnished only one regiment of "Home Grown Yankees", 1st Alabama Calvary, but they served as Shermans escort company on his murderous march to the sea. Can you imagine a group of so- called southeners protecting that arsonist during that march? Shameful disgrace.

Would you call General Doolittle or General Lemay "arsonists" too?

Welcome to the SEC. I have felt all along that you and A&M will blend in well as time passes. I am glad we both share a dislike of "Red Legs". I know of re-enactors who will not talk with or associate with groups that represent Red Legs. Most have no problem with Union groups, but Red Legs are loathed.
