I can't imagine bumping the LSU game. The Texas game would probably wind up being at the beginning of the year.

Probably the week before the LSU game.

I want to play them after we've won the SEC/playoff. We have a new opportunity in front of us to enjoy a new rivalry and new experience. That game will be there soon enough. I'd rather win the SEC/natty first though. The state of Florida has won 11 nattys over the last 35 years. The state of Texas has 1. There is enough talent in the greatest state in the Union to win more than we have.

why did we let these pompous, arrogant, pretentious, deluded, little-brother-syndrome-having, sexually-confused worms in the conference??

We pick up a higher profile Thanksgiving game with LSU

I'm sorry but Texas A&M-LSU isn't a higher profile game than Texas A&M-Texas

I understand why y'all don't want to play them but don't spout off bullshite like that.

so why did the best coach in the country just turn down $100M from there to stay put?

I'd do the same thing. He is about to pass the Bear and become immortal just like the Bear except now it will be Saban.

That carries so much more weight in history than $100M you give to offspring to spend.

No doubt, even if Texas wanted to do Thanksgiving I think A&M would tell them to go frick themselves. That last game of season will never change with LSU and A&M.

Definitely. And once we actually get to the negotiating table with them I'm sure the date will become a sticking point that delays it even further. They will absolutely want it back on T Day since they're stuck rotating Tech, Baylor, TCU and whoever else at home right now

I'm sure he does.
I hope we don't oblige him.
At least not while I'm alive.

How often does Kevin Sumlin mention Stong/the horns?
(Never)

Same goes for our AD.
(Never)

At Big XII media days ... why did Patterson and Stoops feel the need to call out the Ags?

And how many of Sumlin's SEC coaching colleagues commented on the horns during SECMD14?

I really don't think this was ever a high profile game nationally. I honestly don't get why people care so much. neither side wants to play for a very long time. I don't get why people just cant take it for what it is

it's been amazingly good for us and the SEC though. I'm pretty sure negotiations for SECN have gone exceedingly smoothly in Texas because the ratings for the SEC in Texas, particularly us, have been through the roof.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the 10 highest rated games in a football crazy state last year were all SEC games. This is directly related to their irrational obsession.

The highest profile A&M-Texas games in fairly recent memory were the Bonfire game, the 2011 game and the 98 game where Ricky Williams sealed the Heisman. Only one of those three was really because of football reasons. It didn't help we sucked dick during the 2000s but the one year we were pretty good (2010) they were 5-7 and we were favored by a decent amount. In the early 90s when we were consistently really good they weren't.

pretty true, I didn't watch many of them.

I think our game would be higher profile. I mean its LSU and Aggy, come on man.

There's no way the SEC would allow it to happen. We already bullied LSU into a Thanksgiving Day/weekend game. As much as the SEC office hates LSU, they wouldn't add insult to injury by forcing them to move the game again.
