Not sure what the OP is smoking, but UF/UA will be favored over Texas by 3-7, just a guess. I would think the SEC team would win, but like the man says, that's why they play the games.

The SEC is not nearly as strong this year as it has been in past years - still the best conference in cfb, but by default.

I would not say UF/UAT > UT this year simply for the first 2 being SEC teams.

Bottom line is all 3 teams have looked very pedestrian at some point this year. Either matchup would be very close imo, and I'd actually give Texas the slight edge, simply for their offensive potential. While UT's defense is not as strong, they wouldn't need to be given the opposing offense they'll face

We're talking about the best team in the B12 vs the worst defense in the SEC.

I think he means taking a single common opponent and making absolute comparisons if illogical. Anything can happen in a given game - I didn't see the A&M/Ark game, but maybe A&M played their worst game of the year? I watched them play UT, and I guarantee you that team played a hell of a lot better than they did against y'all, or y'all would've gotten smoked.

Point is, you need several common opponents to make a fair estimate as to what would happen. For example, Bama and Florida have 6 common SEC opponents, so it is much more accurate to use those common games to judge what will happen. (though I think the results were pretty even)

Yes, this.

I don't know who would win between Texas and UF or Bama but anyone suggesting it would be a blowout one way or the other is crazy.

I saw Texas get played close by an A&M team they should have slaughtered.

I saw Bama get a miracle FG block to hang on against a tragically mediocre Tenn team.

I saw UF need the worst referee screw-job in football history to beat an Arkansas team that is far from elite.

Personally, I think McCoy can do more in crunch time that any player Bama of UF has but we will see.......

One thing I do know for sure is that Nebraska's craptastic offense renders it helpless on Saturday against the Horns.

Anyone who discounts Texas in this game does not know Texas. And if Texas does face Bama you have 2 coaches on the Texas staff who have been on the sidelines with Saban. Muschamp and Major Apple White. That's 2 coaches who have been Saban's OC and DC.
I like Texas over Bama. But I think Florida would take Texas.
