and they struggled in that game (Texas vs OU).

But they faced a good D and prevailed did they not? I mean, Bama struggled against Tennessee?

What is your point, exactly?

McCoy is completing less than 35% of his passes attempted over 5 yards. Strong and Saban would have a field day with him.

So?

really?

Just because they haven't beaten a top ten team doesn't mean they can't.

That is the point, which is that your point doesn't mean anything.

my point is that I see a replay of UF vs OU best case scenario for TX.
If they have a start like they did against Colorado...

I don't think they are used to Carlos Dunlap, and J Cunningham.

Yes I agree that Florida has more speed on the line and at LBs than any team Texas has faced this year.

However, Texas' offense is mostly based on quick passes, which would negate Florida's speed and aggressiveness. They don't run the same scheme as OU, and so I disagree with you comparison to last year's MNC.

The way OU limited Texas so effectively (especially in the first half) was by dropping back and keying in on those short passes. They did that really well and Texas struggled.

I don't think speed rushing Texas will do much good. The DEs will never reach McCoy.

The problem with Texas is that they depend of the yardage that Shipley gets after those short passes (TX has a very weak running game). I just don't see how Shipley will do that against our secondary.
Not to mention our stellar LBs.
Texas will have a hard time since they are very one dimensional.

Florida would dominate Texas.

I agree if your LBs and safeties can take away the short passing game, Texas will be in trouble.

I just think it is amazing how some Bama fans give Texas absolutely no credit whatsoever. They act like Texas has no shot, that they will be "dominated."

I think that is pretty dumb.

re: dumbarse...

When it comes to football I don't disagree.

Actually, I told my UT friend, when he ragged me about their great season, most of the same arguments that ya'll have just put forth.

Just wanted to stir the pot. I'll be pulling for the SEC. I just think UT is an unknown, and after Utah last year, I wouldn't be too cocky about what an "untried" team can do.

I watch every Texas game (against people with a pulse). I like them, they are my second team.
Colt hasn't been very good this year. Their D has been playing better, but against weaker competition than last year. It is hard to say how good they actually are.

Exactly, thank you. The last thing I would expect to hear from Bama fans is that a team that played a comparatively weak schedule absolutely CANNOT win.

Bet you thought the same thing about Utah last year and they fricking blasted you.
