How does that differ from Utah, which I'm willing to bet you judged similarly?

If we had beaten Florida, we'd have killed any other team in the nation. The loss to Utah was about "kissing your sister".

If we had gone undefeated, we would have been the national champions.

You can't talk about if statements. Alabama couldn't get it done in a major bowl game last year. Please don't come at anyone with that let down from losing to florida crap.

Texas could very well beat Alabama or Florida. I like Bama's defense more, but don't sleep on UT's defense. They are pretty strong as well. And Texas offense is by far better than Alabama's offense.

I'll cheer for SEC, but I think it would be a great game.

First relevant bowl for Alabama in the new millenium and they can't get up for their opponent?

Okla disagrees with you. Texas wins a close one and this go around Mike Slive cannot bring his refs to Pasadena.

Yep. Nobody to bail the Gumps out this time. But all of this speculation about Bama winning is beside the point because they won't be in Pasadena, but Texas will.

Poor Bammers will get stuck with another "who gives a shite but Bammer fans" bowl game, just like last year.

Big 12 = suck.

SEC champion holds them to 14 points or less.

I've got a good friend here in Houston who is a UT alum. I watch all their games and he watches all of ours so we can discuss during the week. Having seen all but one Texas game this year, their major weaknesses are run game, TE, and a consistent 2nd WR to Shipley. Their defense is very good.

Bama or UF will have trouble scoring on the D, however UT will have trouble against either SEC defense. Low scoring game either agaist UF or Bama. Of the two, I give UT a much better chance against Bama due to the huge mismatch at the QB position. UF/UT would be a pick 'em game.

SEC vs. Big 12. What else do you need to know? Hell, Texas might lose to Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship Game if the Huskers win the North. A team from the SEC will be National Champions again this year.

SEC vs. Big 12

Well, this year, which the only year that is relevant, we have only two head to head matchups.

(South #2) Okie State beat (East #2) Georgia.
(West #6) Arkansas beat (South #5) Texas A&M.

I don't think we learn a lot from those games. You can point to the MNC game or the Cotton Bowl from last year all you want. But we all know that Florida and OU are different teams, as are Ole Miss and Texas Tech.

How about the OOC records?

BIG TWELVE
OOC Record: 35-13
Wins against FBS: 26
Major win: Oklahoma State d. Georgia

SOUTHEASTERN
OOC Record: 35-5
Wins against FBS: 25
Major wins: Alabama d. Virginia Tech
Auburn d. West Virginia
OOC Games left: 8

These records are relatively similar, with the SEC's being slightly better. The BIG XII has played more OOC games, but they have lost more. They have also beaten one more FBS team. The SEC has 8 conference games left, and would have to lose all of them in order for the BIG XII to win this little head to head.

So, in general, the SEC is better in this department but not by a whole lot.

Texas matches up really well with Bama IMO. Their strength on D is stopping the run; actually they're first in the nation by a decent margin in rush D. Their strength on offense is passing, which tends to be Bama's weak area defensively. I think they'd win by 10-13

funny seeing how the last SEC team we played against we killed (your hogs) and we were going to play against another SEC team this year, but sadly in the end they backed out. wanna guess which team that was piggy?

It has been years since Texas has lost a bowl, (my freshman year to be exact) I see us having a fighting chance against UF or Bama.
