Aside from hating Dan Mullen, I've never seen the fanbase so united around a single cause as getting Boone out of here.

What does Boone have to do with the shitty coaching job that Nutt is doing? Nutt is horrible. I don't understand the mindset of those that want Boone gone, but are satisfied with Nutt.

Nutt didn't keep key assistants from Orgeron's staff who were actually keys to his recruiting.

This is much easier to do if the previous coach retired/ took another job. If the retained assistant doesn't perform in the first couple of years then it falls back on the head coach.

Nothing besides the fact he hired the man. His last 2 hirings have been awful and we would like someone new to look at football coaches for the University.

But like I'm saying, Burns and Brewer's resumes speak for themselves. I don't know how you couldn't keep them.

Here's what Pete Boone has done as AD:
-Refused to give Tommy Tubs a raise or build a practice facility, causing him to leave for Auburn.
-Hired David Cutcliffe.
-Fired David Cutcliffe after his only losing season.
-Hired Ed Orgeron (the story goes that Boone wanted Dennis Erickson who, upon meeting Boone, didn't want anything to do with the job anymore)
-Hired Houston Nutt

I know that Nutt sucks dick. I want him gone as well. It's just that we Rebels can't imagine him making a good hire for head coach.

well.....technically......Boone's only two hires were Tubbs and Nutt.

Hiring Cutcliff was a technicality to secure Eli.
Orgeron was Khayat's idea to save money. Hell, Tyrone Nix's salary is more than we ever payed Orgeron.

I know what you're talking about with the whole "ten years and a cancer" deal.......but I honestly don't see how it's possible for Nutt to do you as dirty as Boone has done us.

Some of our fans may be pissed but they pale in comparison to the insanity in Fayetteville.

Oh its definitely not possible. Boone is way bigger of a deal to you guys than Nutt was to us because he has his hands on more things than just football. I was just commenting on how there is now almost a template on how to run someone off these days.

Group formed to push firing - check
Ads in the newspaper calling for firing - check
Blackout the stadium. - check
Dig up old dirt - check
Targeted person forced out - ?

I imagine with message boards being in full boom now you will see many schools start to follow this path in the future.

Please shut your ignorant trap. This is more than just about football, but athletics in general. I've wanted Pete Boone gone for 6 years, so I didn't just hop on the bandwagon. I've just finally put up with enough of his shite to where I've decided I'm just not going to do it anymore and with all my limited power make sure he vacates his position. The last straw for me was not us losing, but the fact that he threw his head coach under the bus for a loss to Vandy just to save his own arse. That was when it was very much confirmed that he is a horrible leader for our athletics program. Fortunately many others, many of them very powerful alumni, are joining in finally.

Question for you people in the know more than I am. Has Skip Holtz name been brought up at all? With the Big East possibly losing their AQ status to the BCS would he not be worth throwing 2.5 mil at to see if he comes?

If we lose to State (god forbid) and he hasn't resigned within 24 hours of the loss, the fans may have to resort to literally chasing him out of town.

Dan Mullen
He should resign now then. Didn't you hear Mullen. We are never losing to Ole Miss again, and thank goodness, I was worried that we may lose one here and there.

I can see Brassell and Moncrief running past the State secondary already, and Tyler Russell getting picked off twice by Charles Sawyer or Brassell.

As Brassell is in the endzone after a pick six, I see him doing a re-do of his "Dawg Pound Rock" he did before a game his senior year.

Could you imagine?
