But even one year's snoozers would be the next year's powerhouse, and having a more fair schedule gives your team the opportunity to play those teams when they're good, which makes the whole season better. As top heavy as the SEC has been lately, that could shift at any moment.

All ranting aside, I wanna play more teams dammit.

To me, the best solution is to let Bama-UT and Aub-UGA continue playing, but let the other 10 teams rotate both cross-division games.

I understand those rivalries, and I do not think anyone should "force" those teams to discontinue playing annually if they want to continue playing annually.

But the other 10 teams should rotate IMO.

Scheduling would still be a bitch, I believe, with those four only have 1 rotating game to the others 2

From a recruiting standpoint, this probably favors LSU more than anyone else. LSU and USCe are the only SEC teams that get to play regularly in both Texas and Florida.

And with regards to fairness, the rest of the conference shouldn't be forced into a mold that only preserves the interest of the few. Maybe if the big 4 want those rivalries, the rest of the conference should be allowed to rotate as they want (if it's even possible).

I guess in truth, no system is perfect and everyone will find flaws in any system they choose, but I'm not real thrilled with the 6-1-1. I like diversity personally.

Do you think Nebraska and Oklahoma fans bitched when their annual game was taken away?

6-3 for most of the SEC, but let the important permanent rivalries stay. At the very least, it should be a nine game conference schedule with two rotating and one permanent cross divisional.

But as has been pointed out many times before, this won't matter when there are 16 teams and four pods.

It won't, but IMO the SEC is a lot further away from going to 16 than most people think.

Just my opinion, but I believe the SEC will stay at 14 for 3-5 years, if not longer.

Still got taken away though.

Of course, we all know that Bama tells everyone in the SEC office what to do.

I believe the vote was 11-3 in favor of the 6-1-1. Democracy has spoken.

LSU beat every memeber of the Big4 in 2011.

Maybe LSU is the Big 1 ???

The simple solution was to move the Alabama schools East(if tradition is really what is wanted), seeing as they screwed the whole thing up to begin with. Move Missouri back were it is (West of the Mississippi River) and move Vandy as well since they really dont have a rival
No, LSU would win the west all the time.

Why not move Tennessee to the west and Auburn to the east. I would rather play Tennessee every year and don't care if we ever play Auburn again. Plus Auburn could continue their rivalry with Georgia and Florida.
