If you are referring to Cecil's tweet you are correct.

Bammer would take a shite all over Michigan, OSU, Louisville, Clemson, Washington and anyone else the media wants to roll out there. It wouldn't be close. Think 2012 Notre Dame.

They just don't get it. Bammer is a pro team playing amateur football.

Lol, anyone that thinks Cecil Hurt isn't in Tuscaloosa because Cecil Hurt wants to be in Tuscaloosa is crazy. Cecil has been covering SEC sports longer than most commentators have been with ESPN and you can bet he has had offers for "bigger and better"...

I imagine he is compensated quite well to cover things in Tuscaloosa...

What happened is that a veteran journalist gave his opinion...which seems to be universally shared by football fans across the country...that an ESPN writer is unqualified for the job and perhaps only has the job because she's a woman. Among other loony statements, Dinich suggested last year that Miami should have forfeited its game against Duke. The "who have they played" point demonstrates an incredible ignorance for someone who writes for a national media outlet. You don't ask the question "who have they played" without knowing that they've played the #3 ranked SOS. It just makes you look ignorant and uninformed.

Alabama can't help that they stole their opponents' souls.

Agreed... but I think Finebaum tee'd that one up for her. He loves creating controversy

Well, you know that Finebaum will have to criticize Cecil for this comment since he works for ESJWPN.

I think that's a bit of a stretch. A lot of people on here said that Ohio State was going to get rolled vs Bama two years ago like ND. That sure didn't work out that way. You can say that this year's Bama is better than 2014 Bama on defense, but that team had an upper class man QB and NFL RB and Receivers playing. And Reggie Ragland was also a beast. Tre DePriest never lived up to the potential but to say that Bama team was not great is an insult. Sims was a better passer than Hurts. He had escapability so he wasn't a bad QB for Bama. Just look at last year. 90% of the posters on here said Clemson would be pistol whipped in the title game. It was the most competitive title game since the Auburn-FSU game.

At first glance she has a point what's Bama's best win?

Is it against a top 10 LSU team that went on to lose at home to Florida?

Is it hosting a top 5 Texas A&M that lost it's starting QB and lost the next 3 games?

Is it against a top 25 USC that's now in the top 10 after changing QBs?

Was it against a top 15 Tennessee team that crumbled down the stretch and was decimated by injuries?

Was it against a top 20 Auburn team without it's best QB and who's MVP wasn't close to 100%?

There's a lot more that goes into evaluating a win than what the teams final ranking.

I would point out that outside of the Ole Miss game has Bama ever been in a position where the outcome of the game was uncertain? They've dominated in a season filled with mediocrity, the SEC is weak, but is the Big 10 really that much better?

I typically enjoy Dinich's writing. She does solid research and usually puts together good pieces. So I think Hurt's comment is a bit over the top.

That said, Dinich diminishes her own credibility by trying to dish out hot takes with no purpose other than getting a reaction. If she wants to be a new Bayless, Finebaum, or Stephen A Smith then fine. No one respects their journalistic integrity, and they won't respect hers if that's the route she wants to pursue.

she also said the Tennessee had the East locked up in October.

She also said LSU should be ranked #1 in the preseason polls because Brandon Harris would be good enough to lead them to a championship.

And you could go to any Bama Fan website and find a poster that writes similar flap news that Cecil writes. Cecil needs to remember the saying about glass houses.

Here she gave her pre-season top 4. Now, could one have reasonably listed someone other than Alabama as their pre-season #1? Of course. But to say "I don't understand the logic" demonstrates an incredible ignorance. Even if you have another team as #1, to not be able to understand the logic that someone else used to select Alabama displays an incredible ignorance.

What's the best way to eliminate stereotypes? Don't be a stereotype. If you don't want to be stereotyped as a bimbo, don't act like one.

By the way...her pre-season top 4 were LSU, Clemson, FSU, and Oklahoma.

That little tweet was just a snippet of all she said. I just now watched a replay of what she said on TV. There really wasn't much wrong with her remarks.

She essentially said USC now looks like Bama's best win and that that the best SEC teams Bama beat have several losess and aren't top ten. That's all pretty much true.

It's partly due to parity, as well as injuries and inconsistent play by those teams. And AU, LSU, UF all lost OOC games. SEC is down a bit. Her points weren't invalid by any means.

However, she should've left out the "who have they played" remark. She also should've acknowledged Bama's strength of record/schedule.

It was not a good look for Cecil, imo. He could've countered her opinion without so brashly insulting her. He could've simply countered with Bama's #3 SOS rating.
