Not everyone in the South wears a suit to a college football game.

I'm fine with a sundress, but a formal gown and pearls is weird too.

This is embarrassing. We need to conform to the standards of SEC football

Louisiana is equally, if not more racist than Mississippi. Quit pretending it's not. Other states may have a say in that matter, but Louisiana needs to hold their tongue on the subject of racism.

Do any of you actually care that some young pups at OM wear jackets and ties to games?
They're trying to fit in with their homies, so everyone will like them.
It's kinda sweet, really, in a low self-esteem way.

And who cares that some Florida fans wear jorts?
Or that large Tennessee fans wear overalls?
Or that LSU fans wear purple and yellow pimp gear?

In the ranking of life's annoying yet insignificant things, I'd place Ole Miss' insecurity issues somewhere between the direction the toilet paper unrolls and people who enter the elevator before you've exited it.

Are we losing sight of the very real possibility that these are pledges forced to look like idiots

That's exactly why we do it. People think we all wear this shite, when it's really just the goats. Goats should always look their best.

It's not cool. And it's not even a creative form of expression. It's laziness and bad manners. Dressing appropriately in public is classic. And it never goes out of style.

I'm a professor who has spent time in many OM classrooms.
Their kids dress no better (many in fact dress worse) or "appropriately" in public than do their peers from other universities.
This is silly.

I have been to plenty of games a Oxford, Starkville, Baton Rouge and Fayetteville and the only people I have ever seen wearing coats & ties have been pledges/frat boys. And in Oxford most individuals wear just average game day attire while me tailgate on the supposedly bad chicken tenders on crystal (if anyone wants to know you can't have an "open flame" in the Grove so it sort of puts the kibosh on creative tailgate food).

Better to dress nice than dress trashy by wearing jeans and a jersey.
Sounds like the appropriate attire for a damn football game.
