Well. How would you describes LSU having 7 losing seasons in the 90s?

It's funny you bring that up because i vividly remember running up and down the aisles while we were losing to Houston yelling "Stop the construction!" over and over.

It is funny that Nick Saban took over two programs in the midst of major facility improvements.

LSU football has been and always will be significant to me. Yes, even in the 90's.

I don't see it detracting from your chances at a big hire.. but honestly, there are so many really good large D1 and mid major programs in the South that you'd think it would be easier to get a big hire when in fact it's more difficult.. baseball isn't like football where the big schools that get the best recruits ALWAYS win.. it's a more democratic sport, which allows the mid majors to occasionally get some underrated talent and underrated coaches.

I'm sure being in the SEC would help and yes I'm aware of Alabama's history in baseball but for some reason Alabama just isn't looked at as an elite school for college baseball the way that some other schools like LSU, Vandy, SC, UNC, FSU, UF are.. those schools, and a few others in the South can go out and steal an up and coming coach from a school like Louisville, who I think is well on it's own path to becoming elite in college baseball.

I think Bama's best bet is look at the mid majors that are always really good and get their head coach. It's more than just facilities. You have to start a coaching tree from somewhere, and most college baseball powers have a well established coaching tree.

Overall though, I think Alabama is more than capable of becoming a really good baseball school again and this baseball facility now puts you in the conversation with the LSUs/Arkys/SCs of the SEC.

Why has Alan Dunn not been brought up...? I know many LSU fans think he may head to Tuscaloosa as soon as the job opens up. He's been great in BR and would be a huge loss for us.

Bud, that was bad... REALLY bad. I know with me, as with most LSU fans, and with the SEC Network, I watched almost every LSU baseball game. When you watch every game and then get that one camera angle at Hoover, it was horrible. I guess with Bama playing every game there you got used to it. I know it was only temporary, but there was no excuse for that...even for one year. With the SEC Network, Hoover should have been prepared.
