Exactly. Its completely unfair. Both Bama and Auburn will always have a big disadvantage
Payback for all those years Bear Bryant had 140 players on the team
Honestly, Bama should always be good in baseball.

Most all-time wins. Tied for most SEC tourney titles. Second in regular season titles. Finished runner up twice in CWS. It's something to build on. Unlike starting at the bottom, like a Kentucky football.

Don't matter , Bama fans only care about college football.

There's certainly a divide in now older LSU fans, and younger LSU fans, view Alabama baseball. Those LSU fans that saw the Tigers rise to power in the 90s remember the epic games with Alabama.

I'm not an LSU fan but I saw enough of those really good Alabama teams play to recognize your history.
Problem is, history doesn't mean shite to an 18 year old from Florida that is considering several good offers from programs that have done more recently than you have, have facilities that are just as good or better, and actually have fans in the seats at home games.
In the current era of college baseball, if you don't have the scholarship advantages that some schools do, you better wow the hell out of kids with facilities, huge crowds, and amazing atmosphere. If you can't, they will go somewhere else... oh, and your bat girls? Seriously... upgrade them and give them something to wear other than some t-shirts somebody found in a box from the 1970s.
That said, I was a big fan of Jim Wells. Heck, we had a bond... I went to an Alabama game at Dallas Baptist's tournament a number of years ago and, as a good SEC fan, sat with the Alabama fans and cheered loudly for Alabama (the whiskey helped - they don't even attempt to check if you're bringing in a flask or two at the Frisco Roughriders' stadium) while wearing an Ole Miss shirt. Coach Wells noticed my friend and I and actually made a point of coming over and thanking us for supporting his team better than most of the Alabama fans there did.

I am fairly certain that LSU is way out in front in tounament championships.

eh at this point they are about the same

Why would McDonnell leave Louisville for the Alabama job?
Posted on 5/22/15 at 10:18 pm to lsu711
You are correct. LSU's current run puts them at 11 to Alabama's 9.

I thought I saw Bama had 7 and was tied with one other team while LSU was at 11. Not 100 percent on that, but I think it was a SECN stat showed yesterday.

There's the confusion on what's considered "sec tourney" and the former "sec post season championship".

Out of state tuition is ROUTINELY waved for baseball players, that isn't the issue.

THE MYTHICAL CHAMPIONSHIPS BAMA CLAIMS!!!
Gotcha, wasn't sure

Hey. We might not be the only one that claims that. Lol. It's the precursor to the SEC tourney.

It doesn't really matter. Bama had success in baseball in the past but failed to develop a culture around the sport and that's why today it's not anything special.

And that's my point. You can sell a past to a coach. But facilities can help that coach sell the program to potential players.

Army has a past too. Think Saban is going there?

I hope so, yalls upgrades are going to be awesome. I'm happy to see a commitment towards baseball from you guys

I think the next year will probably establish the Alabama nation's opinions of Bill Battle rather firmly either one way or the other.

Well. 2006 is more recent than 1945. Enough hyperbole.
