Can Alabama's new baseball facilities attract a big hire?

Alabama has spent 52 million on baseball facilities, set to open on 2016. Can this attract someone like McDonnell from Louisville? Alabama has a proud history but has fallen behind since Jim Wells retired.

Being in the SEC also is a big draw. I would imagine so if Alabama is willing to spend a little. Any pictures of new stadium?

Nope, because something like the Hope scholarship situation in Georgia is key in baseball and Alabama doesn't have that. You will always be at a disadvantage compared to some other teams

I refuse to see that as an excuse for Alabama or AU. Alabama saw championship caliber teams under Schollenberger and Wells.

Maybe Blake dean will be interested

Exactly. Its completely unfair. Both Bama and Auburn will always have a big disadvantage

Hopefully. Baseball in our league will be funner when Bama is better

Honestly? No.
I think that both Alabama schools have an uphill climb when it comes to rebuilding their baseball programs.
Facilities are great but there is something (and I don't know what it is) that seems to make it harder for both Alabama and Auburn to be truly competitive in the current era of college baseball... in a way, I think that the scholarship situation seems to hurt Alabama and Auburn more than it hurts other schools. Possibly due to the much higher price of out of state tuition at both schools.
Also, I'd add that all that money you're spending on the baseball renovations (and I've been by the stadium recently... it's going to be nice when it's done) are still going to put you at around the 4th or 5th best baseball facilities in the West... you're not passing LSU, A&M, Arkansas, or Ole Miss with this renovation. At best, you're catching up to what those schools have (MSU's facilities are big and the atmosphere is neat, but the stadium is almost as big a shithole as Sewell-Thomas was before the renovations started).

I think Alabama is done hiring coaches with LSU ties. Not all of them are Jim Wells.

Kentucky just poured way more than that into their football facilities too, does that mean Urban Meyer is going to Lexington? Of course not.

Yall better start donating more money for it. Last time I checked yall havent had half of the funds required from private donors to build the stadium.

Some Alabama fans care deeply about UA baseball. The rest will be back when a winning product is fielded again.

Except Alabama has a great history in baseball, unlike Kentucky football.

How did Schollenberger and Wells build consistent winners then?
