Forget all the BS bout the legality of the gun. His story does nothing to answer why they were in a closed public park after midnite with a bag of weed & a gun in his lap? Cleaning it? Really? In a closed park several hrs at least after shooting it at a gun range? This has drug deal written all over it.

According to the report, the pair of players had been shooting guns at a range earlier that night but did not take them home. Robinson reportedly bought the gun a year ago, did not know it was stolen but never got it registered.

You've never gotten blazed and cleaned your gun after a trip to the range?
Well not in my car. Id be afraid to loose a spring, a pin, or something.
Lost a pin on my winchester 12 one time, the night before a hunt. that sucked

You don't have a constitutional right to play college football

Even if they weren't doing anything wrong (aside from weed possession but come the frick on) it's just damn stupid to carry weed and a weapon on you in a park at night.

Window of opportunity for LSU. Offer them the choice of 5-10 yrs in Angola or rat out bama to the NCAA.

ITT a bunch of random Alabama fans suddenly become experts in Louisiana criminal law. It's impressive how quickly they mastered one of the more complex legal systems in the country. Kudos.

Possession of controlled substances, possession of stolen firearms...
...all just a misunderstanding. They were just out on a coon hunt.

Well it's your state's fault for basing your legal system on the Napoleonic Code rather than English Common law.

Frankly, I see this a much ado about nothing. Yes, it was stupid, but not worth stitching them up for it.
If anything, they should charge and fine them a nominal fee, then let them go about their business. If they continue to act like dumbasses, then they have a previous charge to act upon.

Didn't LA give that bama fan that teabagged the LSU fan 2 years? In a comparative sense this has to be minimum of 5.

Did anyone on here really think that Cam would not play? Hootie will take the heat here and will be gone!

I didnt realize it had closed. Figured Little Nick would suspend him for a quarter.

Be careful on the type of hunting you assume they were doing in that park.

It's a blessing and a curse. Civil law is actually better at some things but obviously has drawbacks as well.
