"Door Remains Open" for Cam Robinson to Play
quote:
More details have emerged surrounding Alabama starting left tackle Cam Robinson and reserve safety Laurence Jones’ arrests last month in Louisiana, according to a report from ESPN.com’s Chris Low. Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban told Low he is still determining Robinson’s status but said “the door remains open for Robinson to play.”
Robinson and Jones were arrested in the early morning hours of May 17 on charges of illegal possession of marijuana and illegal possession of firearms. Robinson was also charged with illegally carrying a stolen weapon.
According to the report, the pair of players had been shooting guns at a range earlier that night but did not take them home. Robinson reportedly bought the gun a year ago, did not know it was stolen but never got it registered.
“It’s the first time Cam has ever had an issue or a problem,” Saban said of Robinson’s arrest, according to Low. “We’re handling it and managing it internally and making him do things to hopefully change his behavior. I’m waiting to see how this whole legal thing plays out, because it’s not really what it seems to be.”
An arraignment hearing for the duo has been set for Thursday, June 16, at 1:30 p.m. CT in Monroe, La. At the hearing, Robinson and Jones will be notified of the charges against them and will enter guilty or not guilty plea.

Hootie will be the fall guy so that Saban can let Cam's thug arse back on the team imo.

So he is still in possession of a stolen, unregistered weapon. Only difference is the possession is a result of him being a fricking idiot as opposed to a thug

Glad the young men will get to play
IF the charges are reduced (a big if if our LA brothers are right regarding the stolen weapons charge) I could see Robinson being suspended for the first two games and eligible to play against Ole Miss.
Just my opinion.

Wasnt one of the guns on their lap or something as well? I didnt really pay attention to the report, but seem to recall one on lap, one under seat

Not stolen if you buy it from someone

Wonder if he "remembers" who he bought it from.

Yes, it still is.
This "report" doesn't really change much, it's still a wait and see for what the DA with charge them with and/or what kind of deal he'll offer them as first time offenders.

It's a felony, it doesn't seem to be anything else, it is a felony.
And felons can't play in the sec thems the rules.
Not what it seems to be.
So we construct a gun range story.. But one guy had the gun out in his lap and the other under his seat. Do you not put them in a case, or trunk, or glove box.. I know I do when leaving the range. Don't have them sitting in my lap while smoking weed.

Meh, whatever. Somebody that has just recently broken rules, and has that in his history, is now trying to tell us that things aren't what they really seem to be. I just think that its hypocritical. Its a hypocritical act.
