Cam did more with less.

Which brings up the question...

Would Timmy's stats have been better if he didn't have to spread it around to the rest of that UF talent? Cam was about all the Tigers had, right?

Hmmm...

unbiased comparison between 2007 Tebow and 2010 Newton

The only thing cam had on Tim was yards rushing and he had 1 more game than Tim.

I rest my case

Cam Newton Played three years and won three championships.

I hate him, but there is no denying it. Dude is an animal on the field that can't be stopped.

Cam was better than Tebow when it came to: everything except leadership. Cam was just better, plain and simple. No knock on Tebow..

As someone said, Cam was the best for one season. Tebow's body of work was spectacular, and the guy had heart galore. Hershel was flat out amazing. That's really all I have.

Cam doesn't have 3 titles, he has one. Newton was a UF Freshman in 2007 and was kicked off the team in 2008 before either the SEC and NC games so therefore he has 1 NC(not for long).

Can someone please fill me in on the great talent Tebow had around him?

Aaron Hernandez, Percy Harvin, and.........?

And please don't say Riley Cooper was a great talent either...

yeah, both Herschel Walker and Cam carried their teams to NC's. Herschel was UGA for 3 years.

I think Barry Sanders had the greatest season of all time. His record will never be touched in my opinion.

The first game I saw him play was Mississippi State. I began to worry that night.

I have asked a question a couple of times and never gotten an answer. Please help me here.

A lot of Auburn fans came here and talked about how great Cam was before the season started. How did all of you guys know he was that good before he played a regular season game.

Was he there early enough to play in the 2010 spring game and that was enough?

Did he play great in practices that you could go watch?

Was the media allowed to watch practices, they said he was great and you guys believed it?

Did the coaches say he was great and you guys believed it?

Serious questions because with the way Miles, and Saban before him don't let anybody watch practice, I never know what to believe when Les says a player looked great.

et’s do a final comparison of Cam Newton’s current season’s numbers versus the Heisman season of Tim Tebow in 2007. The results might surprise you.

Touchdown Totals

Cam Newton in 13 games put up 28 passing TDs, 20 rushing TDs and 1 receiving TD for a total of 49 touchdowns
Tim Tebow in 12 games put up 32 passing TDs, 23 rushing TDs for a total of 55 touchdowns
Truly an astonishing total of touchdowns in 2007 for Tim Tebow – Cam Newton got the extra game with the SEC Championship Game against South Carolina.

Rushing Yards

Cam Newton: 1409 total yards on the ground or 108.4 yards/game
Tim Tebow: 895 total yards on the ground or 68.8 yards/game
This is where Cam Newton overtook Tebow – the yardage on the ground.

Passing Yards

Cam Newton: 2589 total passing yards or 199.2 yards/game
Tim Tebow: 3286 total passing yards or 252.8 yards/game
Total Yards

Cam Newton: 307.5 yards/game
Tim Tebow: 321.6 yards/game
Tim Tebow shines in passing yards and total yards per game.

As incredible as Cam Newton’s 2010 season has been, you have to agree that Tim Tebow’s year was even better back in 2007. He had more touchdowns in fewer games and more total yards per game than Cam Newton.

With that said, Cam Newton’s team went undefeated and Tim Tebow’s lost several games that year. However, on an individual statistical basis, Tebow in 2007 wins out.

Team had 1 less game.
