Don't you guys know? Any new hire is automatically the worst coach in the history of sports, probably couldn't coach a special olympics team--until he proves himself

I don't think hiring Cam Cameron is as big of a deal as having Stud back coaching the O-line. With Mett's lack of speed but awesome arm, the o-line makes us or breaks us this year.

And Flacco got paid because of his performance in the playoffs.
And was still one play away from potentially not even getting to the AFC championship game.

He's the best OC in the nation. He left the Ravens because the NFL wasn't challenging enough. LSU will score at will

I wish you guys would tell us how one is supposed to react to getting a NFL OC to replace an O-line coach.

Cameron was one of the better OC's in the NFL for the last decade, how is that not a huge upgrade? Even if you don't think his play-calling is all that great, you can't deny his QB coaching.

Van Gorder was an extremely successful DC at Georgia. He will do well at Auburn. You guys got a good one!

Since when did failure in the NFL equal failure on the college level?

Well, you have to understand the lack of offensive talent Cameron had to work with in Baltimore. I mean who could score with Joe Flacco, Torrey Smith, Ray Rice, Anquan Boldin, Jacoby Jones, Bryant McKinnie and Michael Oher? He finally gets to work with a legitimate QB and elite skill position players at LSU. Not to mention a head coach known for consistent offensive production and 2 minute drill game management.

I don't know if he will be a good OC but i liked him on Growing Pains (though it was no Perfect Strangers).

Seriously? And if you ranked quarterbacks in the NFL, where would you rank Flacco? The only NFL magazine I bought this year has him ranked 22nd. Yep. that would be 22nd out of 32. Yep. You guys got a prize!

Hey, if Mett could put up 250 yards in the air against Bama's revered defense last year..imagine what he could do with an offensive coordinator who doesn't sit up in the booth getting barbeque all over his face?

The amount of stupidity and overall lack of football knowledge on this board never ceases to amaze me.

And his record in college?
Year Team Overall Conference Standing Bowl/playoffs
Indiana Hoosiers (Big Ten Conference) (1997–2001)
1997 Indiana 2–9 1–7 T–9th
1998 Indiana 4–7 2–6 T–7th
1999 Indiana 4–7 3–5 T–8th
2000 Indiana 3–8 2–6 T–9th
2001 Indiana 5–6 4–4 T–4th
Indiana: 18–37 12–28
Of course that was as a head coach, and no way anybody is going to give him a shot at THAT again.
If he is so good at developing QBs and RBs, I wonder why Indiana wasn't any better than that?
Hint: He got an invite from Les "Nesman" Miles because they are buddies. that alone should scare you. Hiring buddies rarely works out.
