It's a strong statement, but the evidence is trending markedly toward Cristobal reviving Oregon as an elite program.

They have no QBs and no OL. They are 3 years away from even sniffing 10 wins in the pathetic ACC. I don't think you realize how bad that roster is right now.

Bro, with all the graduate transfers out here you can find a serviceable QB. Now, the OL is the biggest issue. But, a coach like Cristobal could remedy that in a few seasons. Plus, Cristobal is a Miami guy, the money will likely be better at Miami because of no state income tax.

I'm sure one of the things that pushed Richt over the edge was seeing desperately needed S Fl recruits sign elsewhere a couple of weeks ago. The U is about to be a dumpster fire a la FSU and he sees it coming. No sense hanging around and getting your legacy destroyed. He was smart to walk away from that ticking time bomb. They are going to suck for at least a couple of years. Mullin and Heupel are gonna own Florida for the next couple of years.

I thought he had already retired.

Miami knew they were getting a retired guy when they hired him.

I have often thought Richt is “called” to do some other work than football - like foreign missions or maybe some orphanage stuff like Weurfel (sp). I know he has the opportunity to impact countless young men through coaching, but if that’s not where the Lord’s leading you, you will not be content in life. I know because I’ve been there.

I hope I don’t sound judgmental but the thought does often cross my mind about the man. I acknowledge I may be “way off.”

Conflicting feelings here.

This might hurt Florida in the long run because there is no way the Florida/Miami opener gets ANY kind of hype now. When this game was planned, it was supposed to bring back the rivalry and hopefully renew the series on at least a semi regular basis. Plus hurts our SOS when both our top OOC games are gonna be against 2 ACC dumpster fires. At least with Richt there was gonna be some level of prestige to the game. Now it will just be an arse whipping in Mickey Mouse town.

On the other hand...frick dem.

I hate Miami so damn much. More than any other damn team. More than FSU. More than UGA. More than those pussies in Baton Rouge. Miami has pure garbage fans. They make Tenners looks sane. Most of their fans wear half the team colors 7 days a week anyways.

Florida gonna feast on them cruits from Belle Glade to Cooper City.

I believe Big Game Bob was in Miami for the game last night. Is he interested? He’d be my first pick if Cristobal doesn’t want it. Maybe my first pick if Cristobal DOES want it.
I’ve wondered why his name never comes up? I haven’t followed closely his situation if he even wants to get back in the game or not.

Mark Stoops is on their short list.

And as much as I like Stoops, if he goes Neal Brown is likely coming home. I wouldn’t be remotely mad about that.

Tyrique Stevenson, come on down, you are the next contestant on The UGA price is right.

But yeah, just go after someone from the Bama coaching tree.

For several years now Richt has looked completely disinterested in the game in the sidelines. He looks like he doesn’t even know he is coaching. Very little intensity.

Well, they had a great season last year. Jury's still out, I think.

I know Miami can't match Oregon money and probably UK money.

Still not a bad job though. Not another P5 school in the country has more HS talent within an hours drive from campus.

I wasn't following recruiting very closely because, well, a great recruit for Vandy is one with 20/20 vision, and we'll even stretch that if the guy can wear contact lenses instead of coke bottles, but I did get the impression that an awful lot of recruits that were thought to be in the bag, not just leaning, flipped from Miami. Correct?

Allegedly the Miami big wigs wanted him to replace his QB coach who also happens to be his son and he refused.

Did that have an effect on the recruits? Turmoil rumors or something?
