Is this comment really necessary?

Getting destroyed by those cheese people is a pretty shitty way to end your coaching career.

No, but it's certainly not necessary to take a shot at the man in this way at this point.

I think he could relate to So FL recruits better than Venables.

I'm not surprised. His heart clearly wasn't in it anymore.

Hope he enjoys retirement and does some good work while in it, perhaps a missionary trip or helping in building a church.

You think Miami can match Oregon money?

I say bring on Joey Freshwater.

Venables wouldn't be a good fit at Miami. Cristobal, Kiffin, Diaz, or Butch Davis are all better fits.

He's arse as a head coach and would be the perfect shitshow befitting Miami.

Would love to beat his arse in Orlando Game 1.

Cristobal's buyout is $10 million unless he has a clause where his buyout is less to leave for Miami.

There are a few names that sound great, but they will lose some credibility by taking the job.

Diaz just took the Temple job. Obviously Miami is a thousands steps up, but it’s still a bad look.

Cristobal would be seeing goodbye to the #1 recruit in the country and a pretty dang good class to go to Miami.

Heard some of their big boosters want to bring Ed O back. I hope they take him from us. I think it could end up well for LSU and Miami

1. Miami admin is going to do this hire on the cheap, they don't want to invest in athletics.

2. Cristobal has already said he was insulted by not getting interviewed in 2015.

3. Why would he leave a program on the precipice of being a playoff contender and West Coast dynasty for a dumpster fire that will be a 3 year rebuild at a minimum? It would be like Urban leaving UF after 2005 because the Cincinnati job opened or some shite.

He never should have gone there anyway. His legacy after leaving UGA would have forever remained a pretty damned good one. The only black mark on his record is never going all the way, and, as of the end of bowl season, there will be only a tiny handful of active D1 HCs who have. Saban, Jimbo, and Dabo, obviously. Urban's quitting again, so that just leaves Mack and Les both returning to the game. Five, then, unless Coker counts. Granted, Saban has skewed the stats to create a historically low number of active championship coaches, but Richt is still in a very large company.
