Villanova wouldn't be in if they hadn't beat Lousiville, Syracuse, and Georgetown so your point is completely inaccurate.
Villanova has some bad losses this year and they're getting in because they beat those three teams. frick their 12 losses, right? College basketball is a joke.

Hahah look at Virginia just as bad

His points aren't stupid no matter what you say.
The combo of playing 5 more top 100 RPI games and winning 9 of them and as well as playing 6 less games vs. teams with RPIs of 200+ makes Tennessee's resume far better than Ole Miss regardless of their 2-0 record vs. Tennessee. I'm sorry you are too dumb to grasp this concept.

It's pretty funny seeing UT fans in this thread doing a complete 180 when it comes to h2h.
What are you talking about? I have never seen a Tennessee fan act like we should be seeded higher than UF in the dance just because we have owned you for the last 8-9 years.

Correct. Your intellect is staggering. I've never seen someone with your unprecedented level of basketball insight.

Where did going 2-0 vs. Florida last year get us?
Head to head is great for trash talking purposes but it doesn't matter that much to the committee when they are comparing teams.

So y'all are saying since UT played better competition and remember the goal is to get the best 68 teams in but since they played better people they deserve to be in...even though we beat them by 20 at home..... Ok

Yes, they're getting in because they have some great wins that are balancing out a bad loss or two early in the season. It's again better than Ole Miss not playing anybody OOC, not really having any good wins in conference, and having a loss to the worst RPI team in the big six conferences. Pretty "meh" all around.

Tennessee has 4 top 50 wins, Ole Miss has 1.
If UT was top 50, they'd have 3.
So UT isn't top 50? I might not bring that up.

We grasp it perfectly. It's a system that rewards teams for PLAYING tough games. Whether they win or not doesn't really matter. Hell, TN has lost once to every good team they beat this year.
It's madness.
MARCH MADNESS.
AK and the NCAA has killed all of the fricks I was prepared to give about college basketball this year.

4 > 3 last time I checked.

A perfect example of how ridiculous the heavy weight on the RPI is and especially how much emphasis is put on the arbitray cut line of "top 50" within the RPI. But, that's how it goes.

quote:I think it is. If ya'll beat Mizzou and don't get in it'll be an all-time screw job IMO. Tennessee is hot and would be in as of this second but can't afford to lose to a crappy team right off the bat in the tourney or they'll be out I think. Tennessee has played their way in but can't lay an egg in the tourney. If Arky beats Vandy then Kentucky gets another chance at a solid win and is officially in with a win there as well.
How I wish this was true
Posted on 3/11/13 at 11:52 am to the808bass
And no true ole miss fan believes they will get in,..... It will never happen.... Even if we win the SECT I think we don't make it
Posted on 3/11/13 at 11:52 am to FulmersGonnaFixIt
4 versus 3 top 50 RPI wins isn't going to be a huge deciding factor.
Posted on 3/11/13 at 11:53 am to FulmersGonnaFixIt
He's making the point that not factoring in h2h is dumb considering its supposed to be an "unbiased" selection. Sorry you're too stupid to grasp this concept.

UT is in unless we lose the first SECT game by 30
