Yep and ducks has 7 in the box yet still getting mauled - since they didnt think the UVA QB could make any plays with his arm.

Are you familiar with the Oregon defense?
Yep. But you're not facing the all freshmen line you faced last time or an incompetent HC. Now, we have one of the best O-lines in the country (legit) so I do think we can maintain a run game. Also, we didn't even have a running game last time either.
As someone else said, Worley will float some balls to your DBs if he's not careful but again we will put points on the board.

You'll put a lot more

How did we exactly get mauled again?

They pushed your dlinemen around and got to the second level with easy? And these are shitty olinemen versus your supposed awesome "SEC sized" dlinemen. I stopped watching when the UGA/USCjr game came on.
Please stop pretending your defense is something to brag about. It's all about your offense. We will see 4, potentially 5 better defenses as the season goes on.

I know all about your oline. It's hard not to know hanging out on the SECr. It's like not knowing about your 2012 WRs.

And yet you still think it's all about your d-line? Dude, it's your offense that will outmatch us but we will score.

Okay, we got mauled to the tune of 124 rushing yards on 39 attempts for 3.18 yards per carry.
They hit us on one play when our back up WIL LB went through the wrong gap (inside) and the pitch was outside. That went for 45 yards. The rest of the game they averaged 2.0 a carry.

How many of those rushing yards came in the first half? Once the game got away from them it completely changes the game. Their oline was getting into your second level with ease and the RB was getting met 4 yards past the LOS when it was still within 2-3 scores.

I am actually contemplating taking UT as my upset game of the week next week.

Don't.

This is what I am trying to figure out. UVA had less than 300 yards and averaged under 4 yards per pass.
124 yards rushing and 3.7 yards per pass isn't a mauling.

Hell it would epic if it happened and not much to lose if it didn't.

Rushes for 9, 2, 0, 3, 9, 4, 2, 2, 4, 45, 2, -2, 2, 1, 0, 1, 10, 1, -7, 1, 2, -1, -1.
So, 23 attempts and 89 yards.

Of the 23 attempts, 6 of them netted 4+ yards. One was on a scramble and one of them was not because we were mauled but because of missed assignments by backups.
Edited: miscounted 19 and there were 23.

If UT has even a decent, serviceable defense I'd be excited about this game. D doesn't even have to be elite.
But our D is still years away and we have holes all over the depth chart especially in the secondary. Their offense is too fast and explosive. UT will run the ball and put up some points but they'll put up a lot more.

Yup. We may get some points, but we won't be able to get enough and we won't be able to stop the Ducks.
I think Butch is going to get it done, but it's going to take time. Certainly more than we have before Oregon!

So UVA had nearly 100 yards rushing in the first half against you all when the game was still at least in reach - and yet they don't have RBs or linemen half as good as ours.
Once again - this game is NOT about the Oregon D and UT O as neither unit is that great. We will face at minimum 4 better defenses the rest of the season. And just to clear it up - UT is going to get run off the field because we have no speed on defense.
