Our CBs are weak sauce. Oregon will run 4/5 wide sets to take more advantage of that.

No. We won't. We run double tight end sets more than 4 WRs or even 5 WR. I can't remember the last time we had 5 WR formation.

Our D will most likely be in a 3-3-5 most of the game given what Oregon runs offensively.

Are you sure you won't be using a 4 man front for our power plays?

UT will be in a 4 man front and variations of that set. UT is catching Oregon at the wrong time...lack of depth is a huge issue and Worley inconsistant play will only compound on that issue. If UT can get some solid QB play and put together some solid drives, if UT defense can stick to their lane assignments and not chase this duck QB around, if the back 7 can keep shite in front and make em pay when they come across, if UT OL dominates the front, then there is hope and it could be a game going into the fourth, but even in this perfect orange world the lack of depth coupled with the speed of those ducks will eventually be too much. Oh, and frick bama.

I get the impression that some VOL fans think we're A&M on offense. We run the ball and the run the ball some more. We always play with a TE and sometimes we'll bring Lyerla in the backfield as a fullback with a blocking TE.

Also, we most always pass out of play action. Getting a pass rush is difficult because the line follows the running back and Mariota gets the ball out so quickly. He is deadly on a hot read with the blitz as well.

Mariota was off on some of his passes and Lyerla had some bad drops too. Even though we destroyed UVA we have some things to work on. Second game of the season though so I'm not too worried.

This game should be crackn. It's nice to get a big name OOC in Autzen for once.

Yeah, Autzen should be a huge factor for the ducks.

I remember the days when we could say this about Neyland.

I think we're gonna see more of Tyner against UT.

The guy is gonna be a star.

He has another gear like DAT and at 6 feet 218 pounds, it is scary to think of our offense.

I am extremely interested to see Autzen. I'll be at the game.
I'd like to see how loud this place can get.
I don't have very high expectations of a stadium that seats 54K.

I hear ya quackin Duck and had a convo with a buddy of mine earlier. Mariota and the ducks have a legit air attack but it is thei ground game that is lethal and most concerning. It is going to be hard to match personnel with the ducks but I am hoping the UT staff will play with it a bit behind the front 4...nothing to lose. Win or lose, I am looking forward to the game. I pull for Mariota (Hawaiian homie) all year but not this Saturday.

I'm saying the "beaten wife syndrome" of this fanbase is a little pathetic at times.

It can get a little too dramatic at times, but seriously, a lot of us are just tired after five straight years of being beaten into the ground. Some of us, like me, bought into thinking maybe Dooley could actually do a good job. Got burned pretty bad on that one.

It's not so much "beaten wife syndrome" as it is, I think, coming to grips with just what a huge project this is. That's why the whole "Brick by Brick" business isn't just a saying -- it's what we're having to do. This thing has to be rebuilt. Fulmer's exit was probably the right thing, but the sheer incompetence of our administration in their next two hires -- a guy whose recruiting class was a complete bust and who basically nuked our program, and of course the Great and Powerful Doolander -- has set Tennessee way, way back.

I thought this was going to be a year or two thing when Fulmer was fired. We needed work, but we'd be back in short order. It has instead become the worst stretch, arguably, in Tennessee's entire football history.

I'm not giving up -- I think Butch Jones is going to do good things here. Maybe not win us an SEC or national title, but at least get us out of this hole. But it just isn't going to be this year or next year.

I'm done getting my hopes up for "DA BIG UPZET!" I want to see the team compete hard and play four full quarters, which we hadn't been seeing enough of. It'll get there, but it's going to take time.

It gets pretty loud. It'll be an intense atmosphere unless the game gets out of hand quickly. Make sure to head over to the beer garden next to the stadium in the Moshofsky center.

It will have 60k on Saturday. It is loud because the stadium sits right on the field. We are obnoxious too.

I have heard that due to construction style it gets really loud. Based on recent success why haven't you expanded yet?

There are rumors of expansion. There has been a lot of upgrades in all the facilities. Likewise, the AD has been jacking up ticket prices and there have been grumblings. It think they are testing demand. If it is expanded, it will probably be another 10-12k.

According to Ducks fans who traveled to Neyland the noise is comparable -- some gave Neyland a slight edge and some gave it to Autzen but most said it was about the same and that they were very impressed with Neyland and our fans. Great people from the majority I've encountered. A lot of them have become Vol fans and they've won over quite a few UT fans who are now Duck fans (so long as we're not playing).

But hell how can you not like a group who introduces themselves with tee-shirts reading: "WE HATE KIFFIN TOO"

And as I looked for the exact tee-shirt reference I just found this. Apparently, even the coach and team was impressed and complimentary of Neyland.

That said, the really incredible thing about Autzen is that it does it with far less.

Autzen is getting more and more fans that really aren't fans. I will be interested in hearing the stadium this Saturday. Michigan in 2003 and USC in 2007 were really loud. I am hoping it might reach that level.
