Spurrier turned more to Defense late in his Florida career. Teamed up with Bob Stoops, a great defensive mind at the time, to win his only National Championship. Stoops left and turned a bad Oklahoma team around quickly and won a National Championship in his 2nd year. Beat an FSU team that had been lighting up the scoreboard, 13-2. Spurrier is no longer a great Offensive mind, and Stoops is no longer a great Defensive mind. Neither one has one a Natty since, but they're both good coaches.

USCe has been ranked 31st, 44th, and 42nd in scoring offense the past 3 seasons. They aren't exactly lighting the scoreboards up.

When you play in the SEC it's difficult to light up scoreboards on a consistent basis though.
Spurrier also doesn't run a hurry up and hasn't had a Heisman QB doing it.

Way too early to tell. Lets see who can adjust when the bread and butter isnt enough anymore. We saw Urban's fad in Gainesville and we all know how that ended up.

Sumlin
Though in all of CFB it is Fisher.

Malzahn has been a part of 3 SEC West championships in 5 seasons.

I lean Malzahn, just because he didn't have a heisman winner to work with.

I think Auburn's def takes a step back this year, will people pin it on malzahn? we'll see.
Why would anybody think AU will take a step back this year ? They lost two OL and a RB and return 17 of their top 22 on Offense. Mason was great, but AU Rushing Offense still would have been 22nd Country without his yardage. You have to think Nick will be a better passer. Only thing different this year is the schedule.

Last year A&M and South Carolina finished #1, and #2 respectively in FEI Offensive efficiency

Irrelevant. Gus took a team from worse to first. Sumlin had an all star team on offense that blew a couple of games
