Tuscaloosa Not a damn thing

When's the last time you went? It's pretty damn nice now. Then again, I think every SEC town is pretty fun. Odds are if you can't have fun at a college town on a football weekend, it's not the fricking cities fault. You just suck.

U of A used to be a client of mine when I worked in B'ham.

Been to Tuscaloosa many times. It's OK really. Nothing special unless you are in school or attending a football game.

I don't like R.E.M. Never have and never will. Their music is terrible and WSP is the GOAT jam band. There, I said it

Not sure if it counts as coming out of the town but the Mises Institute is a favorite of mine in Auburn

Also plenty of astronauts came out of Auburn including Ken Mattingly (played by Gary Sinise in the movie Apollo 13), James Voss (holds record for longest space walk), Kathryn Thornton (second American woman in space), Jan Davis (two shuttle missions), Ken Hartsfield (three shuttle missions), and Clifton Williams (died in a plane crash before he could get to space)

It still blows my mind that the center of Austro-libertarian thought in the United States is in...Auburn.

Good shite from TUscaloosa...

Zoe's Kitchen was founded by a former Bama PLayer and had two original locations, Homewood and Tuscaloosa.

Archibalds and Dreamland. Both are good. I get tired of the Archibalds is the best ever schtick on here. It is like they hired a PR firm to build them up on TD.com.

Music: alot of the Muscle Shoals Swampers got their start in Tuscaloosa. Go watch the documenary Muscle Shoals.

Up and coming band Moon Taxi has a few members who went to Alabama I believe. EDIT: never mind, they are Bama fans, but all went to Belmont School of Music.

Tuscaloosa nowadays...
Living there cannot be that bad, as long as you have good access to Golf/boating. Good restaurants and there is a bit to do. Music Amphitheater brings in good acts too. Working for the University in some capacity would add alot to that. but IF you do well, any city can be great to you. It would be better than living full time in Auburn....

I'm a bit partial to WSP right now due to a recent spiritual journey that took place at Red Rocks
