yeah because no one ever got off a bus and walked to the stadium before Auburn invented it.
Tiger Walk started before the team bussed to campus from an out-of-town hotel.

Well... not THAT one. But Dale is outdoing himself with the Dale-Downer act in this thread.

Dale has obvious issues.
Best to do what most do & ignore him.

While there is no confirmation as to when the Walk actually started, some say it dates back to the early 50s when the football program's locker room was located at Encina Gym (now the Arrillaga Center for Sports and Recreation). Dressed in full uniform and prepared for action, the team would make its way across Campus Drive to Stanford Stadium.
The Walk evolved over time and in the 60s and 70s the pre-game procession to Stanford Stadium began to draw enthusiastic fans that stood watch along Sam MacDonald and in Chuck Taylor Grove.
I don't know...

The march down victory hill really is cool. Every week I say I'm going to see it, but I always end up staying on the parade grounds and missing it.

What issues?
Sorry no one is impressed about your fans showing up at midnight to learn a few simple cheers so that they can watch milkmen on the side lines giving hand signals as to when to do each cheer instead of watching, you know, the game.

pretty sure the OM unofficial walk through started first.
back when you were allowed to have athletic dorms, the players would all walk from Kinard to the stadium and that led them through the Grove. I'm talking possibly the 60's...maybe as early as the 40's.
Brewer restarted it as an "official" walk-through in 1983. At this time, people were allowed to park their cars and tailgate from them in the Grove. Brewer decided the players should experience the pre-game atmosphere.

You don't have to be impressed--I wouldn't expect you (or any other non-Ag) to be.
I was referring to your A&M issues.
It's every time you post in an Aggie thread--which is frequently.
I think it borders on abnormal, that's all.
But you're certainly entitled to think anything you want.
Peace.

I'll go with "keep making things up". I just didn't want to take credit where it wasn't due.

wow, a couple years before i was born, but i had no idea the grove used to allow cars and Rvs. serious question, though: was the grove not as big a deal back then as it is now for ole miss fans? in reality, when you see the grove on a normal day, it's not that big an area. can't imagine having a bunch of cars parked there would leave much room for the volume of people it's had on gamedays since. i honestly have a hard time even picturing cars there with the scene it is now

Midnight Yell is something any opposing fanbase should come into town the night before to experience... and it might make the "noise" coming out of the student section on a Saturday more understandable. Obviously Bonfire was a huge deal until its unfortunate ending... Outside of tailgating does any other SEC team have any student related events that take place before each game/big games, or is A&M just that much more tight-knit/loyal/cult-like than any other SEC fanbase?
