LSU 1957
Jimmy Taylor-Nfl Hall of fame
Billy Cannon-Hesiman Trophy winner
Johhny Robinson-All american, 8 time all pro, one of the biggest snubs in the pro football hall of fame
Besides the Okie state guy, I think our trio takes the cake

That's a sick burn coming from a guy who was probably raised in Louisiana.

Yeah...you got those "stats" from a message board with no reliable link to back it up. I know because I just visited the same website.

Honorable mention to these guys:
Billy Cannon
Johnny Robinson
J.W. Brodnax
All 3 played professional ball, although Robinson played safety in the AFL/NFL, was the third overall pick in the 1960 draft, played in the first Super Bowl, and won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs (IV), made the pro bowl in 1970 and is in the Chiefs Hall of Fame. He had 57 interceptions and 18 TDs in his 11 year career.
I'm trying to find out who all was in the backfield for the 1957 team besides Billy Cannon and Jimmy Taylor. But whoever it was, was on a team with two NFL greats. The two played against one another in Super Bowl II.
I believe Jimmy Taylor scored the first rushing TD in a Super Bowl.
ETA: Damn, lsupride87 beat me to it. I didn't realize Robinson was on the 57 team as well. Those were some Super Bowl playing mofos.

If you wanna go 3 deep it's hard to beat this.
Not many teams have an NFL 1000 yard rusher as a FB.

Miami 2001:
Clinton Portis, 2nd round pick 9,900 career Yds and 75 TD's
Willis McGahee, 1st round pick 8,500 career Yds and 65 TD's
Frank Gore, 3rd round pick 13,000 career Yds and 74 TD's
Najeh Davenport, 4th round pick and played FB in NFL for 8 Yrs
Good luck finding a college backfield trio that ran for over 30k Yds and over 210 TD's in the NFL. Plus in 1999 we had Edgerrin James who was a 1st round pick and had 12,000 Yds and 80 TD's, and in 2000 we had James Jackson who was a 3rd round pick.
