Lumpkin was on his way to being a beast before he started getting injured. He didn't really do much in 2007 though

The rich man's problems and you'll trying to figure out your best trio. Some fanbases just try and find ONE SEC quality back each year, much less three at one time

The 2010 Alabama Crimson Tide backfield:

1. Mark Ingram
2. Trent Richardson
3. Eddie Lacy

Good backs, but that 2010 yr was the least productive rushing yr under CNS... with exception of maybe 2007.

I liked the Lacy, Yeldon, Drake backfield, last year's Harris, Scarborough, Jacobs (hurts) backfield, and even the Yeldon, Henry, Drake backfields better in the Saban era.

another possible GOAT

1979 USC

Charles White runs for 2,000 and wins the Heisman
Some dude named Marcus Allen is his backup
Michael Hayes runs for 348 on 64 carries(never heard of him)

Well if we go by yards produced by the top three rushers in each season, this is how the top five rushing offensive outputs would shake out:

1. 2016 - 2,803 yards by Harris, Hurts, and Scarbrough
2. 2015 - 2,784 yards by Henry, Drake, and Harris
3. 2011 - 2,738 yards by Richardson, Lacy, and Fowler
4. 2012 - 2,711 yards by Lacy, Yeldon, and Drake
5. 2009 - 2,708 yards by Ingram, Richardson, and Upchurch

I know I'm a Bammer, but I've always thought very highly of Joe Cribbs. I met him at Dr. Larry Lemak's office when I was young and when Dr. Lemak introduced me to him he asked me for my autograph. He got some information from my dad and sent me a helmet, jerseys, and several footballs when he played for the Stallions. We never missed a Stallions game at Legion Field.

1987 Oklahoma State

1. Thurman Thomas
2. Barry Sanders
3. Gerald Hudson

In 1990, Thurman led the AFC in rushing, Barry led the NFC in rushing, Hudson led the NCAA in rushing

to be fair, Hudson didn't get a carry that year as a freshman

There used to be a picture of the 3 of them together but now it's nowhere to be found on the Internet. I'm thinking it's one of those dimension shift things like the Berenstain/Berenstein Bears thing.

Help me find it, interwebs. You are my only hope. It looked similar to this, except maybe up close with their faces

The one I remember, all FOUR of them (you forgot that Tre Smith was in it) were in the classic Heisman running back pose and it was entitled The Four Horsemen.

I couldn't find that one, but I did find this one:

Bama fans should remember Tre Smith very well.

Crazy that out of these 3 Jacobs had the best NFL career. I don't even remember him in college.

He was only at Auburn for a year.

2 years at JUCO 2001-2002
1 year at Auburn 2003
1 year at Southern Illinois 2004

I don't remember too much about 94. I do remember that Mcgee drowned. I actually played against Dicenzo in high school and he was a beast. I thought Walker underachieve but his expectations were maybe too high since he was a 5* out of high school.

Best backfield trio in your school's history? by Jadeveon Malzahn

1997 LSU for me 1. Cecil Collins 2. Kevin Faulk 3. Rondell Mealey Also had Kendall Cleveland and Tommy Banks

And 40 years before was probably another good one:
Jim Taylor, Billy Cannon, Johnny Robinson along with J.Brodnax, W. Rabb and Red Hendrix.

My freshman year 1982 was pretty good also: Dalton Hilliard, Garry James, Karl Bernard, Alan Risher.
So good that Eric Martin and Herman Fontenot converted from RB to WR....
