Lol. That 93 A and M backfield I remember on the bill wash game. That was my favorite team to play with if I recall correctly

Brandon Jacobs
Crazy that out of these 3 Jacobs had the best NFL career. I don't even remember him in college.

You must be young because n my lifetime, Bo Jackson and BRENT fullwood were the best RB group I have ever seen on any team.

Good ones.
I probably shouldn't admit I wore #27 on my 1st grade football team in Lubbock in part due to Hill.

He was only at Auburn in 2003. He did JuCo first, then Auburn for 1 year, then he transferred to Southern Illinois and finished there in 2004.

He was at AU 1 year in 2003. Came to us from JUCO, knew he wasn't going to move up the depth chart over either Ronnie or Cadillac so he transferred to Southern Illinois.
Jacobs was a beast but his large size making him durable is why he was a better pro. Brown and Cadillac both had more pure talent, they could just never stay healthy.

Lot of talent right there. DMac was untackleable against us.

Yup, Fullwood is easily the second best back I watched play at Auburn during my time. I was too young to watch Cribbs and Brooks until they were in the pros though.
I'd say Brooks/Cribbs/Andrews is easily the best trio in Auburn history though.

I don't know about a trio but there is a cool story in SC history.
Essentially, we didn't have a 1,000 rusher until 1975. However, Kevin Long snapped that drought vs Wake Forest to become our first ever 1,000 yard rusher.
Our 2nd ever 1,000 rusher? Came just a week later vs Clemson by Clarence Williams.
So we never had a 1,000 rusher, but then had 2 in the same season.
Not sure who the third string RB was on that roster, but I guess that trio would be up there for us.

didn't Jeff Grantz have more rushing td's than long and williams combined?

Stop listing Caddy, Brown and Jacobs AU fans. Easily the best trio for AU was Cribbs, Brooks, and Andrews and that may be the best trio in SEC history. All three where All-Pro. Barfield couldn't win with those guys in the same backfield during a time when RBs dominated the game.
I'm OK if you list Bo, Fullwood and Agee if you want but Agee was a true fullback.

He had 12 TDs off 473 yards of rushing.
Long and Williams had 11 TDs off 2,206 yards.
ETA: Long and Williams did have 3 receiving TDs as well that season.

pretty good for 3rd rb behind 2 1000 yard rushers.
Hillis for Arkansas only had 347 behind dmac and jones.

Alabama 1991:
Siran Stacy
Derrick Lassic
Kevin Turner
Sherman Williams
David Palmer
All five drafted (3 second round, 1 third round, 1 fourth round). Turner had probably the best NFL career and became quite a beloved and inspirational figure during his battle with ALS. Stacy also managed to turn his life around after unspeakable tragedy.

Don't forget Chris Anderson. He still has the school record for longest run. He set that against Temple that year.

List is shite without UFs unbeleivable backfield from 1982-85 with FOUR first round picks
James Jones Detroit Lions and played a long time
Lorenzo Hampton Miami Dolphins...had knee problems
John L. Williams...my favorite RB/FB who had great hands and led the NFL in receiving at least one or two years/played years in the league
Neal Anderson Chicago Bears who took over for "Sweetness"
BTW all four of the backs played together in 1982 and the last three played together from 1982-1984 and both John L and Neal were drafted first round after 1985 season. Kerwin Bell was our QB in 1983-86 and we had an explosive offense until 1986 when we finally had average season of 6-5-0
