Watch his press conference and listen to the Q & A. I'm paraphrasing here but "I'm not going to change what I fundamentally believe in because we had a bad season, it's not like I'm going to just start running a hurry up no huddle system or something like some other coaches"

I like how everyone thinks Bert is talking about them or their team when he isn't, its highly entertaining.

It wasn't about Florida or anyone specifically.

"I'm not going to change what I fundamentally believe in because we had a bad season, it's not like I'm going to just start running a hurry up no huddle system or something like some other coaches"

What he's saying is he is not going to change his philosophy or principle because he had a bad year, he believes in his "system" and will stay the course. It wasn't a shot at anyone, but you read into it that it was and it was about your school and coach which was my point.

How many coaches will change what they do after a bad year and have it lead to getting them fired?

Ford did it here trying to go to more of a passing offense that led to a bad record the first year, but set up Nutt great roster wise.

Nutt was switching to more of a read/option type offense at OM, fired.

You can find several other examples over the years outside of Florida this year. Honestly, Florida isn't likely to be on his mind at any point since the odds of us actually playing each other is quite slim this season.

Good original joke.

I don't think anyone has made fun of Bert's weight before.

If I had a gold star, you would get it.

Instead, I'm going to print your post out and put in on the fridge, then I will get a laugh whenever I am near the fridge.

Good Job!

Statements such as these are the exact reason I never have liked the hogs. The fans are complete idiots with unreal expectations. They also put whomever the head coach is and Bo Mattingly on the same hierarchy with Jesus Christ.

I am watching his press conference right now and I'm not sure how you could even remotely think that he was calling out Muschamp. He's just talking at that point and generalizing in my opinion. I know you're an extremely level headed poster but it sounds to me like you're reading a little too much in to this one.

From the transcript:

Q:Last year was your first year in the SEC. What did you learn not just about your team and the conference, but about yourself?

COACH BIELEMA:

About myself? You know, I think the biggest thing I took away, especially after the season, is you have to be true to who you are, what you've been. Don't flinch. There's a lot of times there's some teams that go through some adversity, you know, for sure a team that doesn't win a game in their conference, they're going to change out philosophy, got a new idea, new this, new that. I believe you have to do what you do better.

You're going to change little things, absolutely. You're going to change personnel, change the way you do things, the way you communicate, but don't change what is the core fundamentals of what you believe in. I'm not going to a no huddle hurry-up offense, cover zero defense. We're going to stick to our principles and do it better. As a head coach I need to enforce that daily

No, overachieving would have entailed beating Mississippi State and LSU.

I'm just glad Bert gets a driver when he's out drinking not jumping behind the wheel putting others in danger.
