Simmons is 240 pounds, which is probably slightly heavier than when LeBron went to the NBA. LeBron's body transformed after a year or two though.

Exactly. I mean, just look at the kid's shoulders. He could easily pack on another 20-30 pounds.

I'm a Syracuse basketball fan...and this statement was stupid.

Carmelo averaged 22/10 and led a team of freshmen and sophomores to....

Lebron skillset includes his physical attributes though.

For example, Stephan Curry has a considerably better skillset than Lebron James

What makes Lebron great is he is a ridiculous athlete who can do things at 6'8, 260 pounds that nobody can do at that size. In addition he is a smart player

But his dribbling, shooting doesn't exactly jump out at you

His passing and ability to make up space on defense (due to uncanny athleticism) is off the charts.

But watch Curry ball handle, shoot, pass, etc. One of the most skilled players if not the most, ever

Carmelo was great as a freshman. Of course he opened up shots for others but he never was one to distribute the ball. I think he averaged under 2 assists per game. That team also had Gerry McNamara and Hakin Warrick so we shouldn't act like he did it all by himself

Warrick was the only other NBA player on that team. And I love G-Mac

We're crowning an LSU player as the GOAT? Entirely new territory for this board.

McNamara could still ball. He put up 13 a game as a freshman on that title team. It was fun watching him play

Anthony has never been a facilitator... That statement is about as factual as you can get...

I'll wait....

Well, generally, the facilitator is always the PG. With that being said, McNamara averaged almost 5 assists per game so the stats back that up...

Carmello definitely created his own shots, but that's all he is... Offense... His defense is absolutely garbage.

Melo averaged 2.2 assists per game

You understand what being a facilitator is, right?

McNamara was the facilitator on that team, he had double the assists Melo did.

Carmello is probably the best iso player in the NBA, but he's a black hole. His defense is poor, too.

Jordan averaged 13-4-2 his freshman year

Reminds me of the question the old Oklahoma coach Billy Tubbs asked, and then answered, at a press conference:

Q: Who's the only person to ever hold Michael Jordan to under 20 points a game?

A: Dean Smith

Remember I'm a fan...

So you're saying that G-Mac, a spot-up shooter who was slow and had a shaky handle, was the facilitator?

Assist doesn't mean facilitator...

And again, I LOVE G-Mac...probably my fave player ever at Syracuse.

OP needs to chill the frick out. It was ONE game.

I'm 26 and know its way too early to give him this crown by any means. His coach is utterly pathetic. They'll probably limp into the tourney like they did last year.

Rotnie Clarke scored like 65 points in a game at Arkansas, might have been as a freshman, I don't know, I was drunk during the Pelphrey era.

He's gotta do a hell of a lot more than lose to a shitty Marquette team with a big stat line.

Anthony Davis was a phenom, how you gunna forget that?
