It's been a back and forth series as of late, but that doesn't make it a good rivalry. A lot more goes into a rivalry than just relative parity. I can't speak for Arky fans, but the LSU fanbase is not excited about the Arkansas game. And I don't mean that to disparage Arkansas, as the facts show, it's been a competitive series. There's just not much draw.
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss are all games that LSU fans hands down are more up for than Arkansas. It's a fabricated rivalry.

Sadly this is pretty much exactly what happens. It's pathetic and embarrassing. I don't think any LSU fans would say it's a valid excuse but if you've watched this team's performances post Bama the past several years there has absolutely been a drop off.
Now I wouldn't use it as a reason to minimize Arkansas' wins either though. Arkansas kicked our arse the past two year no matter how you slice it.

When I was in high school and didn't follow every Sat I still always knew we wanted to beat LSU. Period. End of story. O yea... and Texas...

Then they played each other every year from 1906-1936. The schools have played against each other 61 times.

As much as we bash each other, I really look forward to the Arkansas game. Other than the past 2 games this game has been really fun to watch win or lose. The 2002 game is prolly the only game that brought tears to my eyes I was so heartbroken after Matt Jones threw that TD pass with a few seconds left to ruin our SEC title hopes
