We were having a football discussion but you changed the subject and claim my feelings were hurt? It's not my fault that you piggies are trying to claim you have a great rivalry, when said rival doesn't even consider you their biggest and nationally an afterthought.

It has rarely meant much but you should see the margin of victory in the UT-SC series since roughly the turn of the century.

It used to be a great game. Lots of weird things happen when we face off (punts hitting the camera wires in Little Rock immediately comes to mind).

Now that it is moved to the week after Bama it does take much of the shine off the game, though.

No knock on Arky, but it is hard to get excited for that game after you're effectively eliminated from SECw contention the week prior.

Why do so many ark fans think this is a rivalry. It was created as the last match up of the season by the SEC when ark joined. When ATM and Mizzou joined the SEC moved from the rivalry weekend games. The SEC and other schools thought so much about the LSU vs Ark game that they moved it from the rivalry weekend.

I still have not met an LSU fan that thinks this is a rivalry game

The game was moved for viewership. Arkansas can't control the size of Texas. If you don't think there is a little extra on this game every year , you aren't paying attention

Hell, the fact LSU fans act like they don't care makes it a rivalry

It is a good game most years.

BUT, it wont become a rivalry game unless: 1) both teams are consistently top 20 teams, 2) a few top Louisiana recruits actually choose Arkansas OVER LSU, and 3)the game decides the SECw championship with some regularity.

So the reality is, that until Arkansas actually ups its game, starts doing what it takes to recruit with the big boys, starts beating Bama, etc, it wont be a rivalry

All the rivalry stuff aside, no LSU fans can deny the games have been exciting for the most part.

Agree it's a fun game and I enjoy watching.

I don't know why that matters in regards to LSU, neither one of us beats bama.

Don't understand this logic. LSU fans care more about the Ole Piss, Bama, Burn, fla or ATM games depending on who you talk with and its not because ark has been winning recently. Bama has won the last 5 and there was a time bama had won 7 in a row as the visiting team. This fuels the LSU fans wanting to beat bama. If LSU had won 10 in a row against ark it would not change. There is more history with the other schools.

Each year when LSU fans are looking for game tickets the ark game is not a hard one to get. However trying to get a ticket, especially home games, for bama, burn, fla or ole piss are at the top of the list.

I don't think it's a rivalry. It was contrived. There have been some great games but that's it.

Now that moron made another "trophy" for the butthole line rivalry with mizzery.
Great, 60,000 fans in the stands and we only need ten toothbrushes

Ohhh I know what this is, lsu doesn't want to think there's a rivalry with Arkansas because they're too good for us and they have a really rivalry with bama.

And we at Bama feel the same about LSU. It's a big game, entertaining game and Bama has a certain 'dislike" for LSU but the pure hatred is all LSU's side and it's only because of Saban. If he doesn't coach Bama they don't get all f'd up in the head for that game. Once Saban is gone for a few years and a generation comes along that doesn't remember him being our coach it will hardly be talked about. Losing to LSU doesn't derail our season. Now Auburn, well, I dreamt about the Iron Bowl just last night. Seriously. We lost. I woke up and said, thank God this was a nightmare. THAT'S a rivalry.

Arkansas, no doubt, has been punching above its weight class with LSU the last decade with success. Kudos to them. Maybe one year Miles & Co. will actually take them seriously

Joke's on you bud. What's A&M's excuse for not being able to beat LSU, because it definitely isn't lack of obsession on the program's/player's/fan's part.

Holy Toledo! This game has championship implications every year.

Well not for Arky usually just bowl eligibility on the line for them.

Meh, the Holy Toledo line is to easily countered by something like "Yes, thank God we get to play lightweights like LSU and Ole Miss to make up for the tough games on our schedule."

As for the rivalry between LSU and Arkansas sure there is a bit there but Arkansas probably has more heated rivalries with half of the West then LSU. LSU, meanwhile, hasn't had a true major rival since Tulane left the SEC.

The game, while often very entertaining, just doesn't have the sheer bad blood you'll find with a Bama v. Auburn, Aggies or Razorbacks v. Texas, or Michigan v. Ohio State. Its a fun rivalry but its not a major one for either school.

I don't blame them for not getting tickets to Ark-LSU. When you know you're going to leave before the end of the 3rd quarter, why show up at all?

I always look forward to watching this game. Hate that it got moved from rivalry week in favor of the shitty TAMU-LSU series
