Agree with the Tennessee summation. Really interested to see if Bone is as good as I think he is. Barnes says he is best player on roster and he looked it against UTC and then got hurt vs App State. Have to wonder if he could have gotten us over the hump against Oregon, UNC or Gonzaga. Should be back for the SEC opener.

Two. Dusty twice and Daryl once.

I agree that Tenn has the most potential out of the bottom half, but this young team seems to play to the level of their competition. I was watching them struggle vs tenn tech before the LSU game last week.
I'll also throw in there that Bama has been a huge disappointment this season considering how the ended last season.
LSU has played better and better offensively since they got trashed by Wichita State. If they can pull together a little defensive toughness, watch out SEC!
LSU is the true sleeper in the SEC.
Now watch them go and lay an egg tonight v/s Charleston

id flip USC and UF. after the top 5 its anybodys guess. LSU probably has the best chance to move up out of that group.

hold up. let me get this straight. Gator fans, who's team lost to us and also missed the tournament last year, feel as if they have the upper hand because of their skills of prognostication used in soothsaying our ultimate demise?
You're better than this gators, leave the moral victories in Knoxville.

Good thing they don't pay you for ur insight or else u would be broke.
Florida has twice as many losses as Auburn and they suck.

South Carolina should be just behind Kentucky. They haven't lost this season and they have quality wins.
Florida is 1-3 against RPI top 50 teams. While the schedule may be tough, the Gators haven't won any of those games against top 50 teams. Florida's best win is against RPI 42 Seton Hall.
I would also have Arkansas in the top 4. Arkansas is 2-1 this season against RPI top 50 teams and are 1-1 away from Bud Walton. They feature the SEC Preseason POY and feature a nice collection of JUCO talent that seems to me meshing well early on. Their win against Texas will likely be a resume builder by the end of the season.
Texas A&M is still bit of an unknown IMO. They have no wins against RPI top 50 teams and their best win is against RPI 55 Virginia Tech. I want to see more from them. I thought they looked good in the latter half of the game against Arizona, but they need to put it all together.
The team I like as a sleeper is Ole Miss. They've quietly just hung around and sit in the top 40 of the RPI as we get ready for league play. They need to take care of Bradley and South Alabama and then lets see how they stack up against Kentucky to open the SEC slate.
One other team I am interested in seeing how they come together as the middle of the season gets here is Georgia. They've been close in some big games but just can't get over the hump. For the league to have quality depth, Georgia needs to stay above .500 in league play and get in the tourney.
Overall, everyone keeps saying that the SEC is down this year. I don't think so. This is the best RPI the league has had in a while. The league ranks ahead of both the Pac 12 and Atlantic 10 in terms of RPI conference strength. The SEC hasn't had this many teams inside the top 60 RPI just before conference season starts in I don't know how long. It is sure nice to see.

LSU loses tonight to CoC.

South Carolina lost to Seton Hall.
And if you're going to be a dumbass and use RPI in December as your barometer of what is a "quality win," then South Carolina doesn't have quality wins. Michigan's RPI is currently 61 and Syracuse's RPI is 173. Their best win is Monmouth, who is 36.
Syracuse is a quality win in name only, anyways. They've been utter shite so far and probably won't make the tourney.

It's December.
If you're using RPI Categorizations like "RPI Top 50" to judge what's a quality win and what's a bad loss this early, you're stupid. It's pretty simple.
To me, Texas A&M's win over Virginia Tech (neutral court) is more impressive than any individual win Arkansas has so far. Houston is mediocre and overrated; Texas is bad (although they could get better by season's end). UTA might be their best win.
Arkansas has the better overall computer resume lined up (A&M played too many 250+ type teams), but I simply think Texas A&M is the better team, and there's not that much of a difference in their resumes to justify saying that one needs to put Arkansas above A&M in a December power ranking, which is based mostly on how good I think these teams are.
If these were resume rankings and not power rankings, I'd move Tennessee down to 11 and LSU probably up to 8.

South Carolina lost to Seton Hall.
I think what UF has done away from home for the entire non-conference schedule against what some metrics have ranked as the #1/#2 SOS is pretty impressive. The marquee win is missing, but the team has performed well, even in the losses.

Looking forward to the "another quality loss" threads form the Gators after we stomp them again this season.

If you are using your opinions in a power ranking, I don't believe you should really be calling someone stupid because they decide to back theirs up by RPI. Regardless of how relevant it is atm.

If you want to tell me that you think that Arkansas is better than Texas A&M and you think that Arkansas has better wins than Texas A&M, then good for you. That's your opinion.
But if you tell me that I need to rank Arkansas above Texas A&M at this point in the season because of RPI, then you're being stupid.

You beat us by 4 in OT at your place last year and didn't make the tourney anyways. 'Grats.
