Alabama has not played an "easy" schedule, and saying it's like Boise is ridiculous.

Since the argument was reframed, it is sort of different. Boise last year at this point, where the knocked off Georgia(better than Michigan) and then a bunch of scrubs, is similar to Bama's schedule so far.

quote:

HOWEVER, Alabama has not proven itself the way you expect a #1 team at this point in the season, because the nonconference big game was diminished by the shellacking and the subsequent loss to Notre Dame, and the conference schedule is back loaded (yes, we avoid UF, UGA, and SCar, but there will be plenty of meat by the time we start talking about BCS title game resumes...certainly more than many previous champions.)

You can't rank a team in the polls on games you think they'll win in the future. While they might very easily win out, that has yet to be seen.

But back to my previous question - wouldn't the same argument that puts Florida #1 actually make a better case for Notre Dame...unless you ASSUME that LSU is a super elite team?

How is it assuming? Most of the media puts them at #6 in the country. You might not agree, but that is the general consensus. Notre Dame hasn't beat anyone that people consider the number 6 team in the country.

Wonder if Teletubby shows his face after Bama manhandles little Johnny and his teammates? I seriously doubt it.

We will see.

They've played a Boise St schedule so far. It seems their hype for just being Bama and easy schedule rather than their play has led to their ranking.

But, but, but they play Tennessee every year!

Who the Hell has LSU lined up against? And give me the SEC schedule spiel. Alabama deals with the schedule rotation like everyone else.

It really makes no difference who we play. we annihilate everyone equally. Michigan, Clemson, Va Tech, Western Ky, Western Carolina etc etc...and in the SEC the same is true except for LSU...so it really doesnt matter about the schedule..all comes down to how we play when we face adversity in a couple games this year.

It's our fault Tennessee sucks? That wasn't exactly an easy game from 1990-2007.

It wasn't an easy game for you in '09 either.

Put the Florida and Tennessee programs side by side since expansion and tell me which one you'd rather play every year if you were trying to get to Atlanta.

I am an LSU fan. That means I'd much rather talk about the 80's than the 90's.

Honestly, this.
It really doesn't matter if they are #1 or #5. If they win out, they going to the NC.

And we've played Florida every year, with the exception of '07, since 2005. If we win the West this year we will more than likely play them in Atlanta in December.

And I think it funny that an SEC team gave up over 50 points to Louisiana Tech.

Ruh roh. 4 of UF's last 7 CC's have come at UA's expense.
