McElroy - SEC Championship as a starter, SECCG MVP, BCS championship as a starter, broke Alabama's single season passing record McCarron - Heisman runner up, Maxwell Award Winner, Johnny Unitas award winner, 2x Second team All-SEC, 2x BCS winner as starter, BCSCG offensive MVP, SEC championship as a starter, broke most Alabama passing records, including McElroy's single season passing record Sims - Second team All-SEC, SEC Championship as a starter, SECCG MVP, broke McCarron's single season passing yard record Alabama's QB development has been fine thus far.

That's fine and dandy but if they are so developed why aren't they in the NFL? The reason is that they were role players injected into a system... They had amazing teammates that made them look good, so their only job was to not screw up instead of win the game..

The same system you question in OP?

What you are saying is, Bama has no worries this year because an NFL qb is not needed due to superior talent and a great system. Is that correct? I guess Bama fans can now sleep easy.

Yeah, Gus has no idea what to do with a first year starter at qb...

Honestly yall will win an average of 9-10 games with your talent... Your recruiting classes are sick.. if yall developed a prime time qb nobody could hang.

Which QB has been better developed:

QB A:

QB B:

I'll hang up and listen.

And three of them made the NFL. Answer the question.. how many QBs has Gus put in the NFL? Auburn or anywhere else. CFL doesn't count.

For some reason yall wanna compare your qbs to AUs... I'm not comparing our teams. I was just asking about the development of bama's qbs.

I would say a first year starting QB who threw for over 3000 yards with a 64.5% completion percentage is a success, wouldn't you?

based on what? Saban has won an avg or 12 games when a qb he recruited is starting. Apparently the qb development is the reason they get those extra three wins a year.

Nobody did hang in '09, '11, '12.
12-2 in '08, '14.
11-2 in '13.
You are bad at this.

I would say that he was throwing to probably one of the best receivers ever to play college football might had something to do with that..

Alabama has no problem developing QBs. Blake Sims finished the season with the highest QB rating in the SEC for full time starters. AJ led the NCAA in QB rating in 2012 and was 8th in 2014. Just because there is no named starter does not mean there is a problem developing QBs. The rumors you hear about Miller are just that, rumors that Finebaum started on his show. The same thing was said earlier this year that he was going to Arkansas and LSU.

Job is to develop them into winning QBs at Alabama. Mission accomplished and then some. These guys weren't some sort of all world talents that weren't developed. I think you have a misunderstanding about the QBs Alabama has recruited.

McElroy was a 3 star I think but turned into a solid QB for those Alabama teams. He was drafted but was never going to have the physical tools to be an NFL starter. This is not a matter of not developing talent. It's about a clear talent ceiling that was below the NFL line.

McCarron was a 4 star, but not really considered an elite can't miss talent. He did great at Alabama obviously and was drafted. He was injured for his rookie year, but may stick around. We don't know that yet.

Sims was more of an athlete recruit who was developed into a solid college QB. He doesn't have the physical skills to be a QB in the league no matter how much he is developed.

Cornwell was pretty highly rated - still young and we will see what happens.

Barnett was pretty highly rated - hasn't even had his true freshman season. We will see what happens.

Really not seeing your point here.

Y'all can mention Blake sims all you want but take away copper and his stats take a huge hit... All bama needs is a game manager, so saban sets up a system for them not to fail.. Instead of setting up a system for them to progress..

Just wondering why a highly touted recruit would pick Bama..

Well, hell, then why would a highly rated defensive recruit choose AU?

I feel like you are stuggling to make your point here. Why don't we take a different approach. Here is your question:

Why are y'all having such a problem developing these highly recruited qbs?

Why don't you tell us which QB or QBs specifically you are talking about that Alabama failed to develop appropriately. Maybe we can focus this debate a bit that way.
