Top 10? Yes, but only because of who you play. Playing two teams worth a pulse isn't something to brag about. It's like Notre Dame last year bragging about how strong that D was 
It wouldn't be top-10 if you played in another conference with multiple productive offensive teams. To be entirely fair.. neither would LSUs.

I was shocked that Manziel was throwing up prayers and Bama D'backs had no idea where the ball was. Should have had a half dozen interceptions. D'backs were clueless.

THIS is exactly what I was hoping someone would bring up.
I bet we could play any team, save Oregon or A&M because of Manziel and we would still be a top 10 or top 5 defense.
WHY? Because of the field, not who we play and how "lucky" our schedule is.

Honestly, these defensive rankings don't matter. What other potentially good defense can relate to Alabama right now? No one has played an offense the caliber of Texas A&M's besides Rice, Sam Houston St., and Alabama.
Furthermore, defensive rankings are heavily influenced by the way the opponent played that week and the schedule. Florida State lead the nation in scoring defense at a point last season; this is the same defense that gave up 37 points to Clemson and got worn out by Florida. Notre Dame's defense looked good on paper and received a ton of hype but couldn't stop Alabama in the BCS title game.

Boss, you came in here flaming. I didn't want a flame war. I wanted to do my part, as a fan, to help guide the perception about my team. We all do that.
Everyone has said our defense sucks since Saturday. Some of them are trying to actually convince themselves of that... so, I started this thread to see how many people actually have the gumption to go on the record and say they actually really think our D isn't a top 10 D.
My OP was NOT looking for a drama fest, which YOU initiated.
