Lsu and any other sec school owes any success they enjoy now to those Bama teams of the 20s and 30s.
When you have been told something your whole life you tend to believe it. Nice try. Quit hating. Ive never seen a fan base so dominant on the field with such an inferiority complex. You guys are starting to sound like Auburn. Get over it. Try and stop 14 is what you do! !3 sounds way better than 6 or 8. Im good with it. Enjoy your Sec trophy while we Kiss the crystal! (no kissing ball jokes please. too easy)

They've certainly put the "mythical" in mythical national championship. Rather than asking them to alter their standards, I'd rather take comfort in the fact that, even though we know that LSU would qualify for fewer MCS's no matter what standard is used, we still have a higher standard for claiming them

this post should claim a NC.

For my 1,000th post, I would like to say the following:

I HATE ALABAMA.

That is all. Carry on.

(bama1959)...

Did Auburn win the MNC in 2004? As I recall...their school newspaper, coach, and "at least" one additional source claimed that they did. They would have just as much right to claim 04 as you would to claiming anything outside of 61, 79, 92, and 09. I've never seen a GUMP credit UA for 04 so you would be the first.

The point is that most other schools would probably claim 4-8 MNC's where you claim 12+. You and your fellow GUMPTARDS want to dispute the article because it came from an Auburn source. It's fact based so why does it matter where it came from?

Um...no we don't. As far as I see it, we won one in 1908 with a 10-0 record. Just to make this easy for you, 1908 came before 1920. Can you please explain how we owe BAMA anything? Another delusional GUMP!

But either way we have at least 8 more than LSU.... So what is your point?

So now it's 8? Up until two hours ago, it was 13......so now you're like a car salesman....I'm going to see how far I can beat you down

In fact, now, I think you only won 6....would settle on 7 you loser?

You mean like hearing that Bama won 13 national championships?.......All your life? You must have been born in the 80s, son.

Do me a favor.....go run in the kitchen and make me a sammich.

Check your history arse grab. Noone from any other conference gave the south any credit until Bama started playing and whipping those boys.(Remember the rose bowl) No tv deals or championships would have ever been Thought of as early as they were in the south without the influence of Wallace wade and Paul Bryant. Of course I wouldnt expect a disrespectful twenty something corndog arse to know anything about that. How much success would Paul Dietzle have had with out the Bear? Zero! The successes of those teams nationally Paved the way for the dominance this league enjoys today. Your Welcome!

okay, okay.

Les Miles would like to give Bear Bryant his sincere thanks for telling Saban to kick two 45+ yard field goals.

Is that enough respect for you?

Here's an idea for you, Gump: Go dig into another Football Thesaurus for another national championship.

Inferiority complex? How is LSU fans calling Bama fans retarded for claiming 5 extra championships in any way a sign of inferiority complex? We don't owe you shite. Keep living 40+ years in the past. We'll keep winning championships now, and in the future.

The Football Thesaurus is not technically a media outlet.

again, Gump,

When your own media guide has to explain how many outlets it had to combine to get to the number, 13, it's a sad day for you.

Therefore, no further explaination is needed to describe your fervor for your team.....you have nothing else in your life to grasp on to....therefore making you a loser.

BAMA'S OWN MEDIA GUIDE.........BWAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA

It's so funny, there is a preface that says,

quote:

A brief introduction to Alabama’s 12 national championships:
Associated Press — 1936-current. Poll of
sportswriters and broadcasters.
Davis — 1889-1935; chosen by Park H.
Davis, a Princeton player in 1889 and a coach
at Wisconsin, Amherst and Lafayette, and first
published in the 1934 Spalding’s Football
Guide.
Dickinson System — 1924-40. Chosen by
University of Illinois economics professor
Frank G. Dickinson; based on system awarding
various point totals for wins over teams
with winning or non-winning records.
Dunkel — 1929-current. A power index rating
system devised by Dick Dunkel and syndicated
to newspapers around the country.
Football Writers Association of America —
1954-current. Chosen by committee
representing membership.
Helms — 1889-current. Originally founded as
Helms Athletic Foundation and changed in the
early 1970s to Citizen Savings Athletic
Foundation before current name adopted in
1981.
Football Annual — 1924-41. A highly popular
magazine published by William F. Boand.
Actual name of publication was Illustrated
Football Annual.
Litkenhous — 1934-current. A difference by
score method syndicated by Fred Litkenhous
and his brother Edward.
National Football Foundation and Hall of
Fame — 1959-current. Chosen annually by
committee representing membership.
Football Thesaurus — 1927-58. A system
devised by Duke Houlgate and published until
1958.
United Press International — 1950-1990.
Poll of college coaches.
Williamson System — 1932-63; system of
syndicated power ratings by Paul Williamson,
a geologist and member of the Sugar Bowl
Committee.
Sporting News — 1975-current. A highly
popular sports weekly tabloid.
New York Times Computer — 1979-current.
Picked by input into Times computer.
USA Today/CNN — 1982-current. Picked by
panel of coaches selected by this newspaper.

YOU CALL THAT BRIEF?

I think LSU's would go like this:

A brief intro on LSUs 3 national Championships.

AP
UPI
BCS

Good post gump, but a few points:
1) with out is one word "without"
2) Dietzel beat Bryant in his 1st year, 1958, and guess who won the MNC (AP/UPI/et.al.)
3) Who the hell is Wallace wade??
4) FYI, Jim Corbett, nationally renounded and respected AD from LSU put the SEC on the map (historical fact).

Have a great day Saturday!!
PS: Didn't bama have another MNC in '73, the year Forrest made all-american and met with Nixon?

Let's be totally clear that they won the 2009 game
AFTER the starting QB left the game with paralysis
of his throwing arm (pinched nerve). Not much of a
challenge, with all due respect to Texas...
