BTW,

If LSU fans are obsessed, why are Gumps on an LSU board?

What's even funnier AND maddening is Ole Miss claiming 3 titles and posting it in their website and in their stadium.

you mean gumps?

I would not be surprised if they did in fact have a BAMA "MINISTER OF PROPAGANDA"

i called into WWL Saturday night while driving home and Scoop started laughing when I made the comment....i wish i had a link to their "NEVER AGAIN" bit during pregame....you would have thought that the Wehrmachtsbericht was announcing the surrender at Stalingrad or something....

While I do agree with most of this you can punch holes in a few of these though:

quote:

1964 National Championship- While the AP did award the NC to Bama (10-1-0), Arkansas had the better record, 11-0. Alabama played Texas in their bowl and LOST. The AP final poll was before the bowl.

That's the way it was back then though. Luckily it has changed since. An AP national title pre-BCS is legit.

quote:

1973 National Championship- AP puts Bama 4th after their bowl game loss. Bama claims a NC from the UPI poll that was taken before they met Notre Dame in the bowl game and lost. There were 3 teams with better records than Bama that year. The embarrassment of naming Alabama number one caused the UPI to name champions after bowl games. Yet Bammer has no shame in claiming it of course.

1978 National Championship- AP gives this to Alabama(11-1-0) even though USC (12-1-0) had the better record Guess who Alabama lost to that year? USC!!!!!!!!!. UPI gave the NC to USC.

Again an AP title, even if you disagree with it, is a legit title. Also you can't discredit the UPI then use it for your argument in your next paragraph

His argument in that paragraph wasnt so much about AP or UPI as it was about USC having beaten Bama that year.

Agreed, but Bama retroactively searching under rocks for Thesaurus championship immaculation is, in a word.....pathetic.

I'm not denying BAMA's historical significance. Their record speaks for itself. To put it in perspective...my 8yr old brags to his friends that he scored 6 touchdowns in their championship football game 2 weeks ago. He scored twice.

You can see why people ridicule Bama fans when they talk about 12 NCs even though the NCAA recognizes 6.

Under this logic LSU has 7 National Titles.

I should have added a ppt with instructions for your GUMP co-workers. What makes you think they will know what to do with the link? Does your company even have PC's in the mailroom or janitorial department? I have a few GUMPS in my company too...I just printed the article and sent my admin with the document. They were all together in the parking lot...washing my car!

8. I just developed a ranking system that says we won it all in 1925.

Gump logic is awesome.

Here is the thing though.... Everyone knows, and know one cares (except maybe the LSU fans that continually post it). You think you are the first to "inform" Bama fans of this discrepancy? Nope. They know it, and they don't care. Are they delusional, yes. For that very reason though, they don't care.

Alabama was ranked #2 going into the sugar bowl that season, where they beat #1 PSU with that famous goal line stand.

Most of the arguments on that article are BS, but this one is especially bad. why shouldn't bama move to #1 after beating #2 that year? makes no sense imho

I counted 11 for Alabama. Not sure where you got 6, but you probably used the same method as whoever wrote that hackjob of an article

Cool....Auburn was undefeated when USC won it all. Auburn +1 in MNC's.

Dude, you can't hand out MNC's like food at a soup kitchen.

You sound like lil' Randy in "A Christmas Story."

"Oh boy, that's mine!"

You dudes are bunch of clowns....Just watch "Roll Tide/War Eagle"

It was an embarrasing glimpse into a football crazy culture, with NOTHING else to base life on......Roll Damn Tide.

The article basically just took all the non-undefeated seasons and found ways to try and discredit them.

Whats funny is the original article was posted on an Auburn fan site.

I do wish we wouldn't claim 1941 tho. Heck, I'm good with the 8 AP/UPI titles that are recognized by most everyone that doesn't have an agenda.

Can you read? What the hell does that have to do with what I said?

Alabama, #2, beat PSU, #1 in the bowl game that year. Idk who USC played in their bowl, but Bama's title claim for that year is as legit as they come imho.
