The Austin American Statesman is much different than the local papers in most college towns. A good portion of the hit pieces in the media have their roots in some shoddy "reporting" from the AAS.

Their writers were some of the few in Texas that voted for Reggie Bush over Vince Young.

I posted this elsewhere; Texas sold 63,000+ Season Tickets and has 50,000+ students, 1/3-1/2 that attend the games. Those numbers are based on Big 12 ticketing guidelines for visitors, not the SEC.

Texas will tweak the sales as necessary when we are official members of the SEC.

Why is it every time an SEC team plays in Austin there's always frickery?

I hope SEC teams can unite and sit their hatred for one another aside for a change and come together to make Texas' entire existence a living hell the moment they join the conference.
