Why your brand is sad and tired. Your gear sells but looking more like brown version of Walmart Wolverines than the Utx fans I knew in the 60's who were hardworking and humble.

Won't somebody think of the poor band nerds?

Yes, those nerds have families just like the players and staff have families.

Is this why A&M has always been so enamored by the SEC?

I am guessing the Hogs and TAMU are enamored by the SEC because they are family not a$$holes.

The article isn’t wrong to say that Bama could have still brought the band. They simply decided to sell their tickets instead. Not sure why some of you are so up in arms over this.

It really is not about the band. It is about respect.

Examples of respect are Alabama fans giving coaches like Paterno, and Bowden standing ovations.

Oklahoma playing the Alabama Fight song to aTm and Coach Fran in the 80 point beatdown.

The Cigar tradition between Alabama and Tennessee.

The general SEC fan pulling for SEC teams. Chanting SEC SEC SEC and then in the next breath giving them hell because well Rivalries are fun but we are all a family.

I hate Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, and LSU but respect them, appreciate them, and even to some extent Love them at the same time. With that said while I might say I would like to see Oregon Beat Georgia - I had a big smile on my face as I watched UGA show those PNW liberals what real football is about.

Texas is used to dominating everyone. They are used to getting their way. They are spoiled. The truth is Oklahoma, and Texas coming to the SEC while it makes their brand better, and the SEC it also makes both schools equal to Vanderbilt.

You better get tough, and learn good sportsmanship or you will have a very hard time in the SEC not only from the teams but from the fans. If you think you are better than everyone else then you are wrong.

The idiot talking about not wanting to waste revenue on taking the band is moronic. The big difference between Top level College programs and the NFL is the passions and the pageantry ... in short the atmosphere.

Watching a White out at PSU, or seeing the Eagle land at Jordan Haire, or seeing the LSU band at night in Death Valley are all parts of what makes the college game magical.

Recruiting is the life blood of any program. If Texas fans think for one minute that shoving opposing fans and the bands in the upper decks helps recruiting they are wrong. You are killing the atmosphere that makes young kids eyes go wide. You can literally feel the sound at the SEC stadiums.

This Band issue while stupid shows me that Sark does not have his pulse on EVERYTHING or is not in total control. No way would Mrs. Terry not want the Texas Band in the lower section at Alabama and No way would Coach Saban let it stand either.

Texas, and Sark not being in control over such a petty thing makes me understand that Texas is a lot further away from their dominance of old than I thought. Sad, I was hoping for another team like LSU to hate - but hopefully Oklahoma will prove to take football seriously.

Well now you made me completely agree with something Clay posted for first time ever. (congrats you are uniting bitter enemies against you)

I love hearing bands battle at college football games, it’s the only sporting event you really get to see that.

LSU and Southern (which has always been one of best HBC bands in the county) are going something together this weekend which will probably be the highlight of that game.

You are going to piss them off, and even LSU generally try’s to avoid that as it always ends up biting you in the arse

100%. They should stick our band up in the clouds, if they care that much about this.

Of course, Texas fans wouldn't even notice if this happened to our band.

Because your team can not score even in a Whore House

These Texas fricks. I hope coach smokes them by 50. Its time for them to realize this is not the SW conference. They don't make the decisions for everyone.

Texas is a bunch of cocksuckers when it comes to visitor seating and such

A&M fan taking up for Texas at Bama’s expense? Whoa.

Also UT were world class assholes when we played there in 2019. Got a lot of attention on here so no surprise it’s happening again. Gave me a good avatar though

Crimson Tide officials wanted their best fans to get tickets, not band members. That’s the only logical conclusion anyone can draw from this decision.

Or they just didn’t see the point in sending the band when it would spend most of its time hauling arse back and forth from the upper deck.

A decision he will soon be unmaking for visiting conference bands when Texas joins the SEC.

SEC has rules around where visiting conference fans and bands can be placed in the home team's stadium

For this season Del Conte already moved the UT student section and many season ticket holders in preparation for the SEC ticket rules.

It's not taking up for Texas so much as it's stating facts. Putting the seats up in BFE sucks for sure but it was still Bama's choice to sell the tickets to boosters instead of giving them to the band.

There is a simple reason Texas is the way they are. Their fanbase is extremely apathetic. Unlike the SEC teams, their fans do not travel.

In the SEC, schools give visiting team decent seating areas because they want that same scenario to play out when their fans travel. And we DO travel

It's weird that they said this, because the entire rest of the article says otherwise.

Given a choice to send their band and, granted, have them sit in the upper deck,

Screw that. I'm not making the band carry instruments into the upper deck.
