"Another secondary starter, safety Josh Harvey-Clemons, was dismissed from the team this winter and is transferring to Louisville to join former Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.

The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Wiggins had been relegated to mostly a backup role this spring under new coordinator Jeremy Pruitt who promised no starting job was secure. The spring ended with two walk-ons running with the first team in the secondary."
You left off Tray Matthews.

And this is all you have to question? Mason doesn't have to be spectacular, all he has to do is turn around and hand the ball off and not throw INTs at inopportune times.

As far as the D backfield goes, we have Damien Swann, Corey Moore, Sheldon Dawson, and Quncey Mauger all coming back that have started before. Throw in Reggie Wilkerson who was tearing camp up last year before an injury and Shaq Jones, Dominik Sanders, Malcomb Parrish, Aaron Davis, JJ Green, Kenner Johnson, and Shattle Fenteng to make up for those who couldn't do the right thing and had to transfer.

Thanks for your concern though.

Because you're going to be relying heavily on your running game and defense to win you games. If, say, Alexander and Porter were to go down for an extended period of time to open the year, then I think your D would damn near need to be pitching shutouts to win any games. JMO

How do you know what our offense is going to rely on? I have been an LSU fan for 40 years and even I can't tell you with certainty that we will rely heavily on our running game.

Cam Cameron has me scratching my head at this point. Yeah, he likes to pound the ball but he is known for his success with QBs. And last year we were just about even with passing and rushing.

This is a different era at LSU. Hiring CC is going to change people's mind about the LSU offense being one dimensional.

At this point, I just don't think your basis is anything more than just an opinion. Like I said, our Oline will not be the problem. We can sustain a couple of injuries and be ok.

More LSU fans are concerned with QB and DLine

Bama, LSU, and USC (under Spurrier) have proven very consistent over recent years so that leaves Auburn and Georgia. Two rather inconsistent teams. Of the two I lean toward Auburn losing more games than people expect

It's a new day beotch! Those inconstistent AU teams had Chizik leading them, not Malzahn.

At this point, we like all the good publicity that Harris is getting from people. George Whitfield had nothing but great things to say about him. We are very excited and hopeful

If I had to pick one of the above I'd say Auburn, they were a surprise team last year and won't sneak up on anyone this year.

I could see bama going 9-3 this season they are in same situation LSU is in. Hell they lost twice last year with their senior qb

Personally, I don't trust Georgia.

Why do you care?

I don't think your OL will be a problem, I'm just saying that I think it needs to be extremely good for LSU to be successful this year. I'm basing a large portion of that on the performance of Jennings w/ OBJ, Landry, and Hill after he had a month to prepare. That was god awful. If he wins the starting job over Harris, then either Cam Cameron needs to be a miracle worker, Dupree needs to be AJ Green/Julio Jones reincarnated, or both need to happen for there to be a successful passing attack.

Aside from your offense, like you mentioned, the DL has to step up and do something. Having those stud LBs and DBs won't do a damn bit of good if the DL can't keep OL off the LBs and can't generate a pass rush.

I'm not saying for sure that LSU will struggle, OP just asked for an opinion and I gave one. But we'll know a lot about them when they play Wisky. Obviously, I'll be pulling for LSU.

After winning the CWS, which i might add is quite a feat , Vandy fans have returned to the rant in numbers. I count 4 threads on the first page(by different fans) and have seen more all recently... none are baseball related. Does Vandy actually believe they are relavent again? Do they?

I could see any of them going 9-3 and some 8-4, but don't think any will lose more than 4. Auburn has tough SEC schedule with Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and State on the road. Even LSU, South Carolina and Texas A&M at home won't be cakewalks. They would have to have some major bad luck and injuries to lose more than 4.

That would be QB performance and I would agree with this. I am not sure Jennings will start at this point and if he does it want be long from what I am hearing.

Have heard rumors Jennings might be transferring after this year anyway. If that is the case then he knows something we don't at this point.

Our DLine is a big concern for me as well. We have the talent and the coach to do good. With Rasco and Hunter at DE I think we will be good. If we get any production at DT then the SEC should be scared

If any of them do, it will be LSU IMO. A couple of serious preseason injuries on that OL and things could get ugly in a hurry.

Isn't that true for any team?

Maybe, but I'd rather an OL or two go down for us than Mason or Gurley. Or even a safety or CB.

Right now the only thing Gus' team has in common with the inconsistent teams of the past are the jersey colors.

After seeing a few of his game films and coaching against him I was surprised that LSU wanted him.
