It's ok. They're trying to convince themselves that their offensive line isn't going to be a problem this year. And, it might not be.
But Bama is going to see a lot bigger and better defenses this year than VaTech.

Trying to explain why they only gained 206 total yards is pure comedy.
However, they're trying to turn it around saying we're the ones that don't get it.

Explain what? Our OL needs time to gel? We went out there not running our whole offense? We shut it down with a big lead?

You just can't help it.

I think people are readily admitting that Bama's offensive line is not nearly as good as last year's. I haven't seen anyone contend differently. That is true and it is also true that Virginia Tech is fielding a good, experienced front 4 and overall defense. Not a good combination first game of the season for an inexperienced line.

we try to understand something by verbal rationalization. we haven't seen the O-line perform like that in a long time. naturally we are trying to figure it out.

NO one gets exactly why yet, because no one can predict the future. You can dissect the Va Tech game all you want until you're blue in the face, Bama fan or not. All you will do is find a way to believe what you want to believe about it.

Within a few more games, the truth will be had regardless of how it lands. And in the meantime, the Bama program is still the premier program to beat. EVEN if A&M beats us, that is still true.

THAT is why so many threads about our line or AJ or Bama in general are being made right now.

nothing anyone on this board says will change the truth. and make no mistake, fear AND/or excitement are on both sides of the argument.

Anything AJ McCarron did in week one should, in no way, concern Alabama fans.

The offensive line should.

to get back to the point of the thread, this is a very true statement. it's not like AJ suffered physical or mental issues in the off-season. he is the qb we think he is because we've seen him play a lot.

You quoted my statement. Then, you responded, "Explain what?"

Do we need to have a reading comprhension lesson?

You even went as far as listing the comedic options:

A: "Our OL needs time to gel."
B: "We went out there not running our whole offense."
C: "We shut it down with a big lead."

Yet, none of these were good enough.
You went with option D: all of the above.
Congrats. You win the internet today.

You have issues with people that try to understand what appears to be weaknesses with their team? Because it seems like all you care about is having someone admit that YOUR angle is the only way to view the truth. idk.

Back on topic,
What do you think about McCarron being on pace for 1200 yds passing, 12TDs, & 12 ints?

As long as he also stays on pace for 14-0, I'm cool with it.

Well, not much sir. Not much at all. Perhaps we can just keep winning by 25 points or more without our offense even going to the field!

Now, who's the one dealing with hyperbole?

You're offense vs their offense was a 10-10 game.
You'll face better defenses, offenses, and special teams play in the SEC.

How is McCarron or your O-line going to react against better competition?

Actually run our full offense? Execute better? Not sleepwalk through the game?

14-10, but who is counting.

Agreed. Glad we didn't play A&M or LSU first week.

I don't know. Do you? I think this is why we play the games.
