We truly will get to see the proverbial stoppable force meet the movable object. If only Einstein wasn't dead!

Apparently you didn't see the LSU game last year. To perform like he did against that D makes me not worried one bit about how he does under pressure. And as bad as aTm's D is, I don't think he will be to worried about a pass rush. His arm may get tired from handing the ball off, though.

Bottom line is I have a couple question marks on this team, but AJ just isn't one of them.

A. McCarron 14/27 165 6.1 1 0 55.8

I'm not sure what part of that performance was responsive to your quoted text. He's had a ton of great games, but that one certainly doesn't stand out.

I wouldn't quite go that far. Alabama's offense probably can't play like they did against Va Tech and beat Texas A&M or LSU. Possibly not Ole Miss and other teams as well.

However, it's also likely Alabama's offense played it's worst game of the year on Saturday. If not, then Alabama likely won't be a championship caliber team this year.

You mean the 1 passing yard in the second half before the last drive?

You're in for a treat this year if the O-line is really this bad.
You're in for an LSU, USCe or Florida year.
Great defense, sub-80 offense.

A LOT of drops. Doesn't concern me, bad protection too, but a lot of drops hurt his %. The INT, well White did fall down (he could have broke it up), but AJ shouldn't have thrown it.

So, your WRs suck too!

Great. bad WRs, bad O-line.
Qb is a world-beater, but teammates are just making him look bad.

I did. Sans one drive where Barrett Jones made a call for a screen, and the running back made a play, AJ was terrible. Barrett Jones ain't there any more, and given how terrible the offensive line is, a 35 yard screen play ain't happening any time soon.

Screen passes require rushing defensive players to be unblocked. Alabama OLinemen are so good at that, they do it on running and normal passing plays too.

I am much more concerned about AJ throwing hissy fits at young players. This could be a repeat of McElroys last year if he does not humble down. He needs to lead not present himself as Coach lite.

Surely you are kidding? AJ tried to tell Henry what to do two times before he fricked up a third time. Hes a leader on this team and he doesnt have time to do in game coaching for a true frosh that should know what to do.

What was he on the last game winning drive? 5/6 with no time outs? That's the pressure I was talking about.

Some games, and some people, can be measured by stats while others are measured by results. With a game on the line he delivered and to me that's the mark of a great QB. He gets high marks in that game but the stats won't show it. On the otherhand...

One big dofference, AJ has proven himself in big games.

METT had 1 great game in 2012 , AJ was 30 tds 3 ints.

Not at all. Those stats were mostly due to poor offensive line play. Those guys playing in their first game together against a defense much better than A&M should be good to go after an extra week to get used to playing with each other. It's not like they aren't still an extremely talented offensive line.

Kind of like how AJ handled this pressure?

I just think AJ may get exposed this year without an OL filled with AA's like he has had the last 2 seasons based on that last game. Maybe this was a one time thing but it just seemed like VT stacked the line and dared AJ to burn them and he really didn't for the most part.

AJ is a good QB and game manager but he has always been surrounded by a great OL, a solid running game, and quality receivers to go with a defense that makes his job easy. It looks like he may have to put more on his shoulders this year and watching his performance against VT certainly wasn't impressive.

BTW, the VT receivers were dropping more balls than the Bama ones. VT really had a terrible passing attack with a bad QB and bad receivers. Don't count on that on the 14th.
