I don't miss worrying about every game "Pre-Saban" when you never knew if we'd beat N. ILL, DUKE, Lousiana Directional schools, etc. It's amazing that Bama hasn't really been "upset" since 2007. (UTAH is debatable).

Utah is not debatable. Bama was a one loss SEC team that was a few plays away from being undefeated. Utah was a mid major and that game gave way to the " mid majors can play with the big boys" talk.

I gotta agree. And those Utes mud-hole stomped the Tide.

Yeah. 2009, I think. Utah finished undefeated that year. I have to agree that it paved the way for Boise State and the rest in the BCS era.

It wasn't a dig. I really couldn't remember. I know the last two seasons Alabama didn't so just wondered.

Thing is, the feeling of games like Georgia and LSU this year are the same feelings you get from those upset wins. Totally exhilarating.

Growing up during the Dubose/Shula years the most memorable upsets off the top of my head....01 Auburn, 02 Tennessee, 05 Florida, 05 Tennessee...but all of those seasons ended with an empty feeling.

So HELL NO. Screw upsets!

Nah. Boise State beat Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl. That's really the game that kickstarted the "mid-majors deserve a shot" stuff.

Na. It was the Bama loss. Oklahoma chokes in every big bowl game.

The Boise State game really started it.

Meh, those are just national betting odds influenced by a bunch of people that don't know chit.

BTW, the last time LSU lost back to back games at Alabama was 1978-1980. LSU winning in Tuscaloosa isn't much of an upset lately.

but I'd take winning every game any day

Losing at home in November is no big deal either though.

I miss competitive games with Tennessee and Auburn. It's hard to have fun with them when they're so defeated.

I consider the LSU game in Baton Rouge an upset. They don't lose down there very often. Vegas might have had us picked to win but I didn't expect it. I think if we go down to College Station and win this year, that would be an upset. Road games in hostile environments are bigger wins than wins at home against a formidable foe. Jmo.
