ou lost a game by 24 points. Bama hasn't been outscored by 24 points in the last 3 years combined, but you managed it in one game. Come on man. You know better.
Bama failed to score a single TD on their home field and managed only 6 points all the way through OT...
I don't like looking at game by game scores because there are so many volatile factors that affect the final scores. A team's resume should be looked at as a whole, with current strength of team, big wins, and bad losses considered.

Even if LSU loses to Arkansas, it would create a 3 way tie if Arkansas beats State too and Alabama beats Auburn. Alabama will need to be ranked 6 or more spots higher in the BCS standings. If LSU loses to Arkansas, I think they would drop no lower than 5th in the BCS due to their SOS. Even if Bama got bump to 1st in the BCS standing, based on the SEC tiebreaker rules, LSU would still win the West based on head-to-head.

No they wouldnt. It depends on who is higher in the BCS rankings. If that was true, then no one would be talking about us possibly winning the West.

You may not like looking at scores (and I don't blame you if you are an Arkansas fan trying to compare your resume to Bama or LSU), but after the record, the scores is one of the first (and sometimes only) things many voters look at.

Double Down, you are an absolute moron. A loss at home ends your place in the discussion. STFU and move on.
Unfortunately for you/LSU, it doesn't end bama's place in the discussion.

I agree that voters will look to the scores; but they will also hopefully look to the timing and venues of the big wins/losses and teams' overall SOS.

Also didn't give up a single TD all the way through overtime. Never trailed in the game until LSU's kick went through to end the game. Bama had 6 scoring opportunities and only capitalized on 2. LSU had 3, but capitalized on all of them.

sounds good.
Arky 29 Ole Miss 24 (Bama 52 Ole Miss 7)
Arky 31 Vandy 28 (Bama 34 Vandy 0)
Bama has played ONE close game all year and that was to the current #1 team in the nation. Arky has played 3 close games and all to unranked teams. You also lost to Bama by 24 freaking points. You have no argument over Bama.

Not yet. But if Arkansas finishes the season on a 8 game winning streak and with a win @ #1 LSU, there's definitely an argument to be made.

You would have pulled your hair out back before the BCS. There were many times a NC was just a beauty contest.

Eh. I don't mind anyone arguing against Bama. It's just your rational is so far off base. You're opinion isn't really matching up with the logic you offer.
You're not the first to take a dive. Won't be the last. Just sad to see.

this thread has been a fun little distraction today, but you can't honestly think that Coaches, Computer, Media, etc would rank one team over a team that beat them by 24 points. Your posting history would indicate you are too smart of a guy to honestly believe that.

"You have no argument over Bama."
God forbid it happening, but if they come into Tiger Stadium and win they damn sure have an argument. It will not matter how you gumps spin it.

Not exactly.
If LSU loses and drops behind Arkansas, Bama goes to Atlanta.
If LSU loses and does NOT drop behind the Hogs, LSU goes to Atlanta.
Assuming Bama doesn't fall in the Iron Bowl. Not likely but like all rivalries, you just never freaking know!
Which is why I hope LSU brings the wood this weekend, regardless of how Ole'Miss has been playing.

Wont matter if ARky is ranked ahead of LSU.
If Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., and LSU lose then you will prob see:
#1 Bama
#2 Arky
#3 LSU
Bama goes to ATL. Win that and plays for a Naty. At that point I have no idea who move into #2.

Actually it does.
If Arky is NOT ranked above LSU in the final standings then LSU is the 2nd of the tied teams in the tie-breaker clause. LSU wins the head to head tie breaker over Bama and goes to Atlanta.
See below;
quote:
The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams(LSU) is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team.(Bama) In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams(LSU) shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.

I agree, and LSU still getting the trip to Atlanta is by far the most likely outcome even if they lose.

No. Alabama humiliated Arkansas and has looked like a significantly better team all season (appearance matters in CFB). While Arkansas was needing a miracle to beat Vandy, Bama was demolishing every team in its path other than LSU
