Yea, busts are determined by where they are drafted and how they perform relative to that slot. If Glenn Dorsey was a 2nd round pick then he is not a bust. He was the #3 overall pick. You don't draft guys #3 overall to be one-dimensional rotation players. Same with Tyson Jackson.

The reason players like Dre are getting these big contracts today , is because teams (management) like Cincy are afraid to blow more draft picks on the unknown. These GMs are taking heat and losing their jobs over poor picks (JFF, RGIII), so they rather go with the known then looking at the Draft. Again, Dre has played for 4 years and has not produced much. He is targeted by opposing QBs, but in FA today, a DB breathing can get high dollars.

Good thing Alabama fans don't care about the NFL. Right?

I can't fault you for not knowing since Bama fans do not care about the NFL... Or baseball, Basketball, and now gymnastics.

I used to like the NFL, a long time ago. Honestly, I didn't know who Kirkpatrick played for, and couldn't name the NFL teams of more than a handful of former UA players. That said, I do know that UA has more current NFL players than any other college program, and will soon extend that advantage.

Hey, now. I care about college basketball.

But the NFL, baseball, and gymnastics can go to Hell.

I love college baseball and gymnastics. Softball too. Only follow NFL for former Alabama players and the occasional Vikings game. My wife's family are big Vikings fans.

I came here to give some props to Kirkpatrick and made the mistake of reading through this train wreck of a thread. My God.

The reason Dre got paid is because he graded out at 17th out of all CBs last year. There are 32 teams and each carry about 5 CBs. 17 out of 160 is pretty damn good thus the money.

The Bengals at 1 point had 4 1st Rd CBs on thier roster and non of them got this type of money. Your premise that any DB breathing gets paid is false. Quality DBs get paid.

I made this thread in jest, but when you put it like that...

Does not belong with the rest of that group. He is considered the best player in the NFL at his position.

Yeah when he's not on drugs. His play isn't why I say he's a bust.

I do not know how they are grading, but he was thrown at more than the neighborhood stray dog. He had 3 INTs and 35 tackles last year. Pro Football Focus had him rated 53rd out of 112 corners. Which shows even average corners get big contracts.

He's played a lot better the last 2 yrs and was probably their best DB last year, but he has definitely had to develop into a starting role and learn Cincys D

a 1st or 2nd string CB can be very effective and not be a high producer numbers wise

That is how Dre K has been viewed the last few years

It doesn't hurt playing a schedule like Cincy did last year based on NFL Passing rankings:

Bills-30th
Texans-29th
Dolphins-28th
Jets-27th
Browns (2)- 26th
Eagles-24th
Broncos-21st
Ravens (2)- 12th

For comparison, Richard Sherman had 38 tackles last season, and 4 interceptions.
