He was given credit for the success Shaw had early at Stanford. Vandy is a hard place to coach and yet he took them to two bowls. He would also be the first Black Coordinator at Auburn.

Sorry Auburn, I don’t mind you guys and all but you’re in for a world of hurt going forward. Gus kept y’all relevant enough. Co-existing with saban is hard enough in the sec west. Let alone his own state. The team to benefit the most from all of this besides Bama is probably Georgia.

He’ll bring SEC HC experience and a knowledge of coaching and recruiting in the South. Give him a few solid assistants and let him focus solely on defense and he should do well.

Upgraded. Darn good Defensive mind! Tough, physical and aggressive style of football. I hate him already!

This is looking more and more like a total disaster for Auburn.

Well Auburn, you’ve managed to downgrade both your offensive and defensive coaching. We did in 2020, but ours left for better jobs. You fired yours. Interesting decision making going on over there.

He had a Couple good years at Vandy despite having an impossible job and was lights out at Stanford

I like Mason, but a lot has changed with college football offenses since he was at Stanford. However, the only time Vandy had a pretty good D was when he was the defensive coordinator too.

2013, the last time he was a D coordinator, was a lifetime ago in CFB.

Sorry you didn’t see our offense vs a decent team last year, apparently.

Good for the War Eagles and good for Coach Mason......He will have better athletes to work with so he will be just fine. Glad for Coach Mason. Godspeed.

Well, it certainly worked for at least 5 teams.

Could be worse. Could’ve hired a DL coach with a binder for a Head Coach. And Bo Pelini as DC

It’s just a ploy to get Sarah Fuller to transfer to the Plains

dont listen to this. Mason is far better than Steele who has underachieved everywhere.

I did read somewhere saying he was going to retired soon and it was not worth bringing him back for a year or two. I think it looks like a very good move on HC Harsin.

Wrong.

Mason will keep them relevant enough with lady recruiting, and virtue signaling. Steele is half the man Mason is.

I remember how LSU robbed us blind when we traded Craig for Steele.
